Restore a lost village

By

t is possible to restore the village from a previous backup point as long as the game has not been deleted from the device.

The game creates a backup once a day, a list of these backups can be found in a hidden feature.

After tapping on the small head of Papa Smurf found in the options menu for about 16 times a “Recover Village” button appears at the bottom right side of the options menu. Clicking on that gives a list of the latest backups. The villages saved there can be previewed and, if needed, restored.

How can i backup my Data file of My Smurf Village, btw im playing at my Samsung Galaxy S4

    • Stroumpfette says:

If you are using Android 4.0 or greater, you can use the Helium product, which based on some of your other posts, you may have tried that, or you can use Titanium which requires rooting your device. As we explained in another answer to you, rooting often will void the manufacturer's warranty, but it allows you access to areas of your device that are usually off limits to users. If you have Android 4.0, the safest route is Helium. You can contact the developer if you can't get the Samsung drivers to work correctly, but first make sure you have a fully featured power cable, and then try to go to the Samsung site first and try to find the right drivers since the ones Helium has loaded on their site aren't working for you.

Hi im currently playing at my Samsung S4 and i want to back up my save file in my Smurf Village, is it okay to just take the file from the root folder?

    • Smurfette says:

No, that is usually not enough. If your device is rooted you can backup via Titanium, if you are not rooted try Helium. We have an article for Helium here: http://www.mysmurfsvillage.com/smurfs-village-int…

      • Marc says:

Well i just want to know. What is "rooted" anyway? O.O sorry..

        • Stroumpfette says:

Rooting one's device is similar to what iOS players call "jailbreaking." It allows you to access areas of your operating system that are usually closed off to you. Most manufacturers consider doing this voiding the warranty.

      • Marc says:

BTW did try using Helium but it seems like the Application can't detect my phone even i install the Samsung Driver..

        • Stroumpfette says:

Make sure you have a full-fledged USB cable. Sometimes the phones ship with one that is solely a power charger and not one over which data travels.

Once you're sure you have a fully functioning USB cable, you might have to go to the Samsung site to download device-specific drivers. Helium makes a note of this on their site. Here's the link for your convenience: http://www.clockworkmod.com/carbon/drivers and if you have further issues with the software, don't hesitate to reach out to the developer. He/She was very helpful when I was having issues.

I had my village registered to a Game Center account. This was a joint account for two different ipads belonging to two different people. Now I changed my Game Center to a different name and my village disappeared. I was able to restore it but first I guess this would be happening again and second I would like to tie it to my GC account but don't know how to do that. When I go to the village now, it still says Hello, xxx (the original name in the GC). Can I re-register it to a different Game Center? Thank you for your help.

    • Smurfette says:

This is possible but a bit complicated. I will list the steps here, but before you do any of it, please make either an iTunes or a iCloud backup of your device with the correct village.

      1. Make sure the old Game Center Account is up to date, to force it to sync you need to play a little, move some items around, harvest some crops etc. The best way to check if it has synced is to log into that account on a second iOS device and open the game, if the GC village that shows up there is the one you want then you can go ahead.

The second step is only necessary if you also want to change the Apple ID associated with the game, otherwise proceed to number 3.
      2. Delete the Smurfs Village Game from you device, then re-download it from the App store with the NEW Apple ID.

      3. Log into Game Center into the OLD Game Center Account (if you are not still logged in) and open the village.

      4. Now we need a backup point for the recover village feature described in the article above. As the game only make a backup point once a day you can either leave it like that for a day or change the time of the device. In the latter case I suggest that you change it backwards so you will not get any penalties for using the "time cheat".

      5. Now go to the options menu of the game and tap 16 times on the little head of Papa Smurf, when the button "Recover Village" appears make sure there is at least one backup point with the correct village you want that has not the current date. (But do not recover yet).

      6. Now close the game (completely, i.e. also from multitasking by double clicking the home button). Then go to game center and log into the new account there. Then, still in Game Center, go to games, choose Smurfs and click play. Now the game will open and you have to play through the intro. Once that is done, go back to options and use the recover village feature to restore the old game.

      7. Last step is to make sure that the game is now synced to the new game center account, therefore redo step 1 just with the new account now.

I recently broke my Galaxy S3 and purchased a galaxy s4. I already knew I lost my last village and am willing to start a new one on my new device but after I download the game it puts up a box in front of the smurf game saying Web page down or wrong address. Please help. This is a brand new phone and I don't understand why it won't load.

    • Stroumpfette says:

You need to contact Beeline to make sure your new device is compatible with the game. There are several of the newer Android devices that are not, and Beeline does not explain why not. Their address is http://beeline-i.com/support.php

  5. BelleCat says:

How can I move my smurf village to another iPad? I'm on level 40 and don't want to lose anything, but I am buying a new iPad and won't be able to use current iPad anymore. I don't really want to sign up to Game Center either. Thanks!

    • Smurfette says:

You can make an itunes or icloud backup and just restore your new device from the old backup, then everything, including smurfs, will be transferred. You can find several guides in our troubleshooting section. I would advice you to use game center though, not just for the transfer but mainly because it saves an online version of your village and you have a backup that is save. You do not have to use the friends feature of Game Center if you do not want to.

  6. Delphine says:

Can you recover a village from more than 2 weeks ago???

    • Stroumpfette says:

You will have to look at your recovery files to answer that. Usually there are about two-three weeks of files. From the blue Play menu, tap Options. Then tap the icon of Papa Smurf 16 times. When it appears, tap Recover Village. You should see a list of files before you. They have dates next to them. See if your files go back far enough. You can preview the files to see if they have the data you're looking for. If you purchased SB between the current time and the time you end up using as your restore point, open a ticket with Beeline and let them know you had to execute a restore. Ask to have them resend your SB, and they should ask for your receipts and then ultimately resend them to you.

  7. Guys
There is a solution for the crash game issue-at least for android users-that worked with me
If the game crashes & you are not able to recover (from main menu, tap grandpa's head 16 times, recover), what you should do that worked with me, is stop trying to play UNTIL NEXT UPDATE !
The game crashed on my ANDROID device (motorola razr xt 910) two times : at level 36 where i managed to recover & at level 37 where i couldn't recover…After many efforts, i thought that maybe an update could save it & so it did! So, if you like the game & you wish to continue, it's worth waiting for next update in case you face the serious crash issue…

  8. Paula Hopkins says:

I'm trying the hidden restore option to try and recover my village saved to phone after the game crashed on me and I had to re-install the app. It's only showing todays date in the list and when I click on the "Preview Village" button.

    • Stroumpfette says:

If you reinstalled the game, you wiped out your hidden backups. If you continue to play, you are restarting the game.

      • Paula says:

I had to re-install the game as it wouldn't even open up anymore. I was up to level 41! I'm so gutted that there is nothing I can do to get my village back :-( They really need to sort out this crashing issue!! There are a lot of unhappy users out there!

        • Stroumpfette says:

If you're on iOS, you can set up the device to backup your game on a regular basis. If you're on Android and your Android OS is 4.0 or greater you can use Helium to backup your data on a regular basis. If you're on Android, you must understand that Helium is a third party product and that Beeline will not assist you with how to use or recover your data using that product. You will need to contact the developer with questions that go beyond the article we have written on the subject: http://www.mysmurfsvillage.com/smurfs-village-int…

Hi guys, I just recently updated my iPod touch (4th gen). I tried to recover my village, but the "preview" button doesn't do anything. When I returned to my village, I wasn't able to scroll to the right and left side of my village (I was only able to scroll up and down), but it will return to normal after I restarted the game.

Can somebody help me? Or at least an explanation as to why I'm unable to recover my village? ;(
