Farmer Smurf

By

IMG_0223_3 Farmer Smurf is again a stationary Smurf, staying in front of his house all the time. He does not come with his own mini-game, but he can help harvest the crops faster when they are done as well as increase their value.

He can be bought for 25 Smurfberries and if his hut is placed close to a garden, he raises the amount of XP and Coins given by crops planted there by 25%. He can do this for up to eight gardens if they are placed close to him or touch his mushroom. To see which gardens are affected, touching Farmer turns them green.

Once Farmer has been touched, a window on the right side appears that has a “Harvest All Crops” button at the end. If this button is pressed, all crops that are ready get harvested instantly and the according number of XPs and Coins is added to the user’s status. This is especially helpful if a village has progressed and hence has a lot of gardens, because it saves time otherwise needed to harvest every single crop individually.

 Farmer smurf (plant all)

A function that many fans of the game have been asking for was added in version 1.1.2 of the app. It is now possible to upgrade Farmer Smurfs hut so that on top of his “Harvest All” function it is also possible to plant a specific crop on all available fields with one click. Like the “Harvest All” feature this can save you a lot of time if you have many gardens in your village.

To enable this function Farmer’s Hut has to be upgraded for 15 Smurfberries, just tap on his house and then on the “Upgrade” button in the window that pops up on the right side. As soon as the upgrade is completed this function can be used and Farmer’s Hut gets a black weather station on top of his thatched roof as a visualisation of that upgrade.

To use this feature, just tap on the house and click on the “Plant All Crops” button. A sidebar with all the available crops will appear. The numbers shown there (i.e. the price, the number of XP and Coins gained) are accumulated, that means they are the totals for all the crops that will be planted by tapping on them, not just for the one individual crop that is shown in the normal mode.

If this function is used, the chosen crop will be planted on every garden and the number of crops is only limited by the amount of available Smurfs and free gardens.

* Special trick for extra XP from Farmer Smurf ! Read below.

It is possible to arrange the gardens in the village in squares of eight with a hole in the middle that can accommodate Farmers Mushroom (see the image below). That way, if all crops are harvested individually and Farmer is placed in the centre of the eight gardens to be harvested, then moved to the next square of gardens before harvest the crops, he can increase the number of XPs and Coins given for every crop in the village by 25%.

With Beeline’s latest release of the watering can for Farmer Smurf on 27 March 2012, when placed correctly, up to 22 crops can receive the bonus, at a cost of 15 smurfberries.

How to buy Architect on the island? Help !! please

    • Poet says:

Complete Papa Smurf's series of quests on the main village first, to upgrade Handy's hut, then you can build Architect Smurf on the island.

  2. violeta says:

I just update the game yesterday. I had a farmer house and I have now 3! However, none of them work on 8 crops as before, the maximum you can get is 5.

Also, right before the update I noticed on the island a square space where I could not place anything, after playing around with it in order to move to a corner (will not let me delete it) I realized that it was a Farmer house!, once I clicked on it works for four crops if placed at the bottom, not above it. After the update, when I click on it, it shows the right hand side information banner but not photo, it just says is the Frame house and gives me the option to upgrade it for 15 SB.

Has anyone experienced this? Is this temporary?

  3. Alana says:

I purchased farmer smurf and he only highlights 4 crops and i move the crops and his house around but its impossible to get the crops even around it

    PLEASE HELP!!

    • Poet says:

Have you upgraded Farmer Smurf and also placed him in the correct positions? Try visiting our fb page for an illustration. We have a record of affecting up to 22 plots if you have bought his watering can. If not, if placed correctly, you should be able to affect at least 6 crops.

  4. Sean says:

I've purchased Farmer Smurf and he works for the 8 crops like he is supposed to, and i've upgraded him so I can plant all crops at once, but I want him to give me a bonus on 22 plots (the same as stated just before the comment) but I need to buy a watering can apparently? I dont know where this is, or if it's still available? Can some one please help me out here.

    • Poet says:

Unfortunately, the watering can was only a limited time offer…if you missed it, you would have to wait till the next round(if) Beeline makes it available for sale again.

  5. BmxDad4 says:

How do I get the watering can. I have upgraded Farmer Smurf but have’nt seen a watering can.

    • Poet says:

The watering can was a limited time offer. It's gone now. Beeline might make it available for sale again in the future, but we will never know.

  6. Tired of tapping! says:

Has anyone heard about getting a farmer for the island?

    • Marco Smurf says:

According to beeline representative Farmer smurf wont make it to the island, but they may add a new smurfs instead.

  7. jules says:

are they crops on the island affected to the all harvest function of farmer smurf

    • Poet says:

At the moment, crops on the island have to be planted and harvested manually Farmer Smurf only affects crops on the main village.

  8. Paul says:

Not sure if people realise but there is a tidy way to position the 8 crops in a circle so that you can move farmer smurf around to maximise rewards. I don’t think I can post a picture so I can only explain in words. Look at the pictures in the example at the top of the page. the 3 crops at the bottom of the picture are positioned correctly. A 4th crop goes above the crop on the left making a straight line of two. This then gives you 4 crops which makes half of the circle. Place farmer smurf in the centre and you should be able to plant to top 2 crops at the top edge. You then need to position the final two on the right. Sorry this is not as clear as a photo but maybe someone can update the one above.

    • Brainy says:

Dont know where the picture came from but If you read the article, it says you can put 8 plots around around farmer hut to collect bonus coins and xp.
For the latest iso update, you can buy water can for 15sb and you can have up to 22 plots around farmer hut to collect bonus xp.

  9. shadesha says:

So has anyone bought the new Watering can that is available for only a few days?? It says it increases the range of his bonus effect, but I'd like to know by how much before I use my 15 smurfberries??

    • Poet says:

That depends on how you place your plots around Farmer Smurf. If placed strategically, it can give bonus of up to 16 garden plots, from what I have seen so far, a slight improvement from the 6 to 8.

  10. Wilson says:

In version 1.17 I can plant All corps at the same time on island. ( plant corps at the left corner first the system will plant all the rest.) but I found the feature has lost in 1.18. How to plant all corps on the island?

  11. miya says:

Poet, your advice it’s work. Thank you very much

  12. miya says:

my smurf id is fb018ef36b9570ac now i’m 24 level, but i lost bridge, i bought famer smurf using smurfberries not show, i lost my island. What do i have to do?

    • Poet says:

Have you tried restoring your game to an earlier time? To recover your village, go to the game menu, tap options, then tap on Papa Smurf's head 16 times. A 'Recover Village' button should appear on the right hand corner. Tap on it and a list of saved games will appear in the next screen. From there, select your desired saved game, preview it and tap yes to confirm.

  13. Googie says:

So I waited to buy Farmer Smurf and was so happy that I got a notification that starting today, he would be 5 Smurfberries off! I purchased him, but it didn’t come up for the sale price, it made me use all 25 Smurfberries, even though it showed that he was on sale for 20! I wasted 5 berries! Grr! What happened?!

  14. not so smurfy says:

I just bought Farmer smurf and as i was moving him it vanished and replaced it with Miner"s house– without Minor! Im so sad :-( What can i do to recover Farmer smurf

  15. Iwan van Bokhoven says:

U want farmer smurf also in the island. That would be great.

  16. barg says:

I upgraded my farmers hut, but nothing happened. I lost 15 berrys but there is no plant all – function, and everything looks the same than before the update.

    • Sassete says:

You can recover your village and go backwards 1 day this way you get your smurfbeeries back. Go to main menu and tap on papa smurfs head 16 times you will loose one day but it can be worth it.

  17. puginatorr says:

if you upgrade farmer smurf, are you only able to plant all crops at all time?

  18. Joey says:

I don't know what to do! Every single time I take an upgrade to the game on my droid, I have issues. After one of the prior upgrades, if I have planted crops and have been gone for awhile and come back before they are finished … I might have smurfs scattered all over my screen. They are watering nothing! It doesn't really harm anything because they usually reappear in their normal spots by their crop if I scroll over to the crops and touch the ones that have lost their smurf. I just took the newest upgrade about a week ago that gives you Dreamy. Today, I was moving Farmer around to be near the different crops I was harvesting…. And somehow I now have two Farmer smurfs!!!!! I don't know how it happened but it's annoying since each one only gives you extra xp for 4 surrounding crops instead of 8!! How can I fix this?

  19. Smurfmanmartin says:

I was wondering what was the best bang for your buck xp wise to plant in gardens around farmer smurf I have been planting magical blueberries and they give me 137 xp an hour is there a better one to plant?

  20. miffy says:

Are “plant all” and “harvest all” functions available in the android version?

    • Smurfette says:

Yes they are, you can find a list of what is available on Android and iOS on our "Android vs. Apple iOS" list. The link can be found at the top of our website.

  21. Emble says:

Ever since I purchased farmer smurf, all my smurfs have been having these twitching episodes – they all start ‘flashing’ like they’re there one second and not the next and it goes on and on for a while or until I leave the app. I think that it is particularly triggered by the ‘harvest all’ feature. Can I fix this?

  22. Rachel says:

I hate the odd arrangement (like the picture above) to get all 8 bonus plants tbh. And there's no other way to arrange. And I really wished it isn't ONLY for 8 plants. But good thing is I don't have to individually plant and harvest my crops, which is a real pain in the ass. I have like 54 crops.

  23. RaccoonCitySurvivor says:

My Smurf's Village automatically updated this morning. When I went to move the farmer house to a different location I ended up with 2 farmer houses but each house only give bonuses to half of the houses that touches it.

  24. Gabriel says:

How can I get a Smurf Farmer in the Island in order to Plant /Harvest all corps there?

  25. Jamie says:

Is it possible to harvest all and plant all shrubs at the same tim

    e??? Help!

  26. Hermes says:

hi, i’m level 26 but when i was level 25 (and consequently didn’t have enough smurfberries) i got an offer for a discount on farmer smurf. since i’ve reached level 26 and attained the requisite smurfberries i’ve been unable to actually purchase farmer smurf.

is there anything you can advise?

    thanks

    • Smurfette says:

What happens if you try to buy him? Have you tried restarting your device, and with the discount on him, you also need an internet connection as far as I understand it.

      • Hermes says:

it says i don’t have enough smurfberries… the sale was offering him for 20 smurfberries correct? or am i mistaking it?

when i go into the shop to purchase him it says he costs 25 smurfberries and so i’m missing 5.

the little pop-up window that appears when i start up saying he’s on sale for 20 smurfberries no longer appears.

        • Smurfette says:

The sale has now gone, it was only a temporary sale, but when the message still showed up you should have been able to buy him

          • Hermes says:

yes, i knew i only had 24 hours left but i managed to level up before the 24 hours was up but the message never showed up again, only that one time when i was still level 25.

is there nothing that can be done? :(

          • Smurfette says:

The message did not always come up, it usually depended on good internet connection. But anyways, there is nothing you can do about it, the sale is now over. You can only hope that Beeline will put him on sale again, but I personally do not think they will do that anytime soon

          • Hermes says:

well that sucks. i had an internet connection the entire time, i tried removing and reinstalling the game but the pop-up window never came back…

i guess i’ll just have to cheat or something to get more smurfberries :(

  27. Hervé says:

Does he harvest and plant all crops on magic shrubs ?

  28. Susiane says:

    Smurf Smurf…

I’m level 29 and I just upgrader my farmer hut.

So the black things above Farmer Huts is nothin?

When I Tap plant all, the price and XP for each crops was differrrent but when Tap plant all crops they still deduct gold by common standard and givin standard XP too (Not as much as it shown when I tap it)

Should be really amazing if it can really works with fluctuative Gold n XP, we can reach higher level faster.

    Pls explain..

    Thanks.. Happy Valentine..

    • Smurfette says:

The article above explains this, it is the total number of all the crops you are planting, i.e. the indiviudal xp and coin amount for each crop multiplied with the number of your empty crop fields.

  29. Melinda says:

Please help I cannot get through the hammer three pegs so my grumpy snuff cannot move on!! Also I purchased the up grade of farmer smurf to plant all it shows in great amounts what it will pay out when I harvest all it does not pay ?? I have asked this before with no response!! ((( help))))

    • Smurfette says:

When you use plant all it will show you the total number of coins/xp that you get. If you use Harvest All it will give you the XP/Coins for one crop at a time. Regarding the Hammering, you just have to try and practice as you can not skip tasks. Only hammer when the red bar is at the top and not when Handy has his finger over the peg.

  30. godhandz says:

smurfette of farmer smurf? im thinking if which would be the first to buy

  31. heather says:

    I don't get it…. it's sooo confusing

  32. KGB says:

What is magical about magic berries? Do they do something special?

    • Smurfette says:

The magic part just means that they give rather high XP in comparison to other crops. Also, they cost more coins than you can earn back (i.e. you will make a loss in regards to coins).

      • EXCEPT: when using Farmer Smurf with the 'special trick' mentioned here in the article. Placing all the crop fields in "circles" of 8 crops, with enough space for the farm to place in. Then you can move the farm along while harvesting the crops with 25% bonus and then you'll even GAIN i.s.o. lose… That goes for both the magical blueberries AND the magical raspberries…

  33. Linda says:

I just brought farmer + update and there is a really nice feature which you can use when you have some time left! plant all –> BLUEBERRIES –> Harvest all –> Plant all = a little less than 120 XP per hour per field, which you can definitely not do by hand. The best possible other crop is available at level 26. So till 26 you have a nice bonus from farmer in your free time :-) (when you want to put the effort into it).

  34. Guest says:

I understand that earning money on smurfberries is importabt, byt farmer smurf is the most overpriced item in the game. To get maximum you need to first buy him for 25 berries, and then upgrade for additional 15 to ge the harvest all.
All you get is some extra xp for 8 places, but offcource a faster growing rate.
To make this a good deal id recomend the game master to adjust it. Keep the price for 25 berries to buy, but change the upgrade price to 5000-10000 gold or 15berries. In that way the player can choose if its a disiplined and hard saver, or want it fast.
I think more wil buy berries this way because its hard to earn that money and its easier to buy berries half way there. Because now most wil choose other smurfs instead of the 25+15 demand.

    • Linda says:

      Hello Guest,
It ain't that hard to earn that kind of money… If you save up your smurfberries from the beginning to buy a harvast wagon, you can grow golden corn which are real money makers :-)

  35. TOSMJS says:

Farmer smurf is the best :D !!!!

  36. Bine2710 says:

    Farmer smurf is the best!

  37. Smurfy Smurf says:

does he give bouns XP for all crops??

  38. sinasmurf says:

hey i bought a farmer smurf just to get all my crops worth more but it doesn't? i tried to plant as many as i can and placed the farmer in the middle like the intructions but i still get the same xp and coin…any suggest?
    thanksssss

    • Smurfette says:

Tap on Farmer and see if the crops have turned green, if so they are affected by him. When a crop is ready, tap on it and compare the number of coins and xp you get for that crop to what you would normally get. If you plant it, it will still say the old numbers, but when you harvest, the XP/Coins should be increased by 25%

      • sinasmurf says:

okay i have tried. I tapped on the farmer, the crops turned green, but when i tap on 1 of the crop its still 1xp 1 coin. Then i tapped on “harvest all the crops”, still the same. (i planted blueberries btw, cuz they grow fast) (: help pleaseee!

        • Smurfette says:

I have never tried it with them, but maybe it does not work with blueberries? I will try as soon as my potatoes are ready. Try it with another crop and see if it works there

          • Tapp Smurf says:

I know this was posted weeks ago but since no one has answered, I figured I would. It is a simple matter of math. Blueberries give 1 gold and 1 xp. Farmer smurf increases your gains by 25%. So each blueberry crop would give you 1.25 gold and 1.25 xp. Rounded, that would be 1 and 1 again.

    • will says:

i don't have farmer but i think if you delete farmer's house and buy him aigan then i think it will do the trick.

  39. LoBuerez says:

does the bug still works in the current halloween 1.1.4 version or is it fixed? I'm thinking on get farmer smurf, but only if it still works…

  40. molehillmt says:

Is Farmer Smurf worth the smurfberries?
    Here's the thinking:
    Farmer Smurf costs 25 smurfberries.
You get a 25% bonus to the 8 patches of crops that he effects. This effectively makes those 8 patches act as if they were 10 patches. This is like getting 2 additional patches for each set that he is going to affect.

If you move Farmer Smurf around, you can get these 2 extra patches for every 8 that you plant. BUT, you lose out on the time saving of the Harvest All button. Additionally, figure it takes almost twice as long to harvest your crops to take full advantage of the bonus (rather than just clicking through, you are having to go to the move menu, move the hut then go back to regular menu and click around then go to the move menu, move him, get back to the regular menu, rinse and repeat until you are done.) You are also not maximizing out the use of your land as you are leaving large gaps in the middle of your crops so that you can move him from 1 location to another.

If you do not move Farmer Smurf, you are spending 25 smurfberries to essentially get 2 extra patches and the Harvest All option. Figure that those 2 extra patches that you got are worth 8 smurfberries (By upgrading 2 different houses up to the 3rd level you get 2 extra smurfs which can plant 2 patches.) You are then presented with the question, is the Harvest All worth the 17 smurfberry difference? I guess this is a personal question as some would say yes and some would say no.
I would tend to think that the plant all would be better use of Farmer Smurf. Unfortunately, this upgrade of Farmer Smurf costs 15 smurfberries (and yes, this bug was fixed.) That means that you are having to invest 40 smurfberries into Farmer Smurf which is almost all of the smurfberries you will be getting for the first 20 or so levels. Seems pretty hefty.

    • DKriz says:

I thought the very same thing. Im tempted solely for the harvest all function… but even then….

      • Kimmo says:

Smart thinking… jeez I hope u don't analyze your whole daily routine that way… ;D I also have one question: does the 15 sb upgrade of farmer smurf give you more bonus than you get from buying farmer. Cuz I have him too and I'm thinking about it… Just the "plant all" bonus option you unlock (from already having him) seems like a bogus expense. I actually expected (before I read this forum, which is awesome btw ;) thumbs up!) that his RANGE would expand, like from one row around him (the 8 crops) to two rows AROUND HIM to 16 or even 18, 19 crops you know? That was my expectation….. Thanx Smurfette!

    • Mad says:

Upgrading should be free or with coins. Beeline is screwing us over

    • Jenny says:

Personally I would have quit playing smurfs a long time ago without the plant all/ harvest all function of farmer smurf. You can get $$ so much faster with him. And when you have 50 + smurfs, it saves a lot of time.

    • Azrael says:

I moved up to level 26 this week and played the quest to upgrade Timber. The big logs to the right were gone expanding the village. The next time I clicked on Farmer, I have the "Plant all" function. I know I didn't spend any smurfberries because I only had 3 before all these things happened and still had 3 after. hahaha!

    • SmurfMindu says:

Your logic is flawed and only works if the crops have zero cost. For example, with magical raspberries, you have a planting cost of 100 and a harvest value of 85, losing 15 gold. With farmer smurf, you can harvest them for 108 coins, getting 8 coins profit.

If it was the equivalent of 2 extra gardens, you would end up with a planting cost of 1,000 and a harvest of 850 coins. Instead, with farmer smurf, you have a 800 cost and a 864 return, netting you more coins than if you bought two extra smurfs.

If you are lazy enough to NOT rotate farmer smurf arond the crops, don't buy it.

  41. wava says:

with the new update, does plant all function still has a bug ( will work with zero smurfberries)?

  42. Xavier says:

I have upgraded farmer smurf twice 1st I bought him and then 2nd I used 15 smurfberries to upgrade in further (he will have a black weather vane on the top of his house) but he is not giveing the extraxp or coins and it's not changing the cost of my selection of crops how can I fix this????

    • Smurfette says:

He is not going to reduce any costs, however, all crops you place around him (up to eight crop fields) will give you about 25% more XP and Coins then they usually would. Just tap him and see which crop fields turn green. If they do, those are affected by the 25%.

  43. njd1970 says:

My plant all plants with "typewriter" sounds while my wife's just does it???

    • Smurfette says:

With the new version, when using the plant all, the game stops for a while (and a sound like coins on coins is played) until all is planted. The previous version it just planted without freezing the game. Is that what you mean? Maybe your wife has not yet updated her game?

  44. what is better smurfette farmer, baby or smurffette??

    • Smurfette says:

That depends on what you prefer, Farmer Smurf is quite helpfull and a time saver with his plant all / harvest all feature. He can also increase the XPs you get from crops, Smurfette and Baby on the other hand do not give that much XP, but many people want to have Smurfette in their village, because she is one of the main characters. That is really something you have to decide for yourself in the end

  45. ellen says:

my farmer smurf "harvest crops" function isnt working. I press it but it does nothing

    • Smurfette says:

It only works if you have crops ready to harvest, this function does not make them ready before their time, it just stops you from having to tap on each one individually when they are done.

  46. sk8tey says:

What happens when you upgrade farmer smurf?

    • Smurfette says:

It enables the function to plant crops on all available gardens at once without the need to have to place them all individually. It is really a great time saver, especially when you have a lot of gardens in your village.

  47. Obickay says:

The "Plant All" feature is an additional 15 Smurfberries so buyer beware.

  48. JKT says:

I don't appear to have Farmer Smurf. I've looked several times, and yes I've updated my app. Under what build menu is he supposed to appear and toward what end of the very long list is his mushroom?

    • Smurfette says:

You can find him in the Smurfberry Shop (third shop), not in the normal shop. He costs 25 Smurfberries. In the Smurfberry Shop he is item # 13

  49. Guest says:

Does the new plant all feature only plant 8 crops that touch farmer smurf, or all the crops you own?

  50. Smurfette says:

Tailor Smurf itself does not give XP, but if you buy one of his hats, they give you XP for the purchase. Tailor offers a great opportunity to style the Smurfs in your village, I like him, but you have to decide for yourself whether you think he is better than for example Smurfette.
