Latest Easter update (version 1.0.7) introduced new gardens where flowers can be grown and like crops they give XP (but no coins) and wilt after sometime. But there is also a new social-networking feature that prevents them from wilting. Once a flower is done and has given XP, a friend (i.e. a neighbour) can water them. If a friend visits the village and sees a water can sign above the flower gardens, taping them gives the flowers water. If this has happened, a water can sign will again appear above the flowers in the village and taping that makes a Smurf return to the flowers to water them and after their normal growing time they give XP again without the need to buy new seeds. If a flower has not been watered by a neighbour within the same time it took the flower to blossom it will wilt and has to be deleted. Planting new flowers is rather expensive, because they do not give coins back, so asking your friends to water the flowers is a good way to save coins.
The flower gardens are available at level 14 and cost 200 coins, some seeds come available later in the levels. If a seed can’t be used, but has the sign “Needs Seed” across the picture, it means this crop needs to be given by a friend as a gift before it is unlocked. Seeds, as soon as they have been grown and harvested once, can be given as gifts to neighbours. If a seed has been given once, the seed is unlocked and can from there on be used without restrictions. Some seeds have to be given as gifts to unlock (which ones is chosen randomly), as soon as this has happened, getting the same seed as gift for a second time does not do anything anymore. Buying Nat Smurfling unlocks all seeds immediately and they do not have to be given as gifts first anymore (although it is still necessary to reach the required level before using them).
Like the crops there has to be a Smurf available to water the flowers, if there is no Smurf available, they cannot be planted. The following is a list of available seeds, the required level, duration, the XP they give and their costs:

I got a flower box on the island, but its empty and I'm not able to grow anything in this box!
How were you able to have a flower box on the island? Currently, we are not able to grow flowers on the island.
I don't know. The box has been there from day one. It look like a flower box, I can click on it, and then an empty menu opens(grey background). So I can't use it for anything!

U need to get nat smurfs to unlock all seeds. Or u can ask neighbors to gift u the seeds which is the cheapest option because it's free.
It's hard to play this game without neighbors so go get some neighbors.
how do i get neighbors? i dont have a face book?
For android, the only option for neighbor is add people to facebook account. For apple, either add people to game center or to facebook.
You can only add neighbors playing on the same platforms.

i'm at level 36 and i have to harvest 20 boxes of flowers,as smurfette request..
i grow 2 times 20boxes and i harvest them but still it say i have to harvest the 20boxes..

You have a typo and you just have to plant and and remove. DO NOT HARVEST IT!
Hello i am in level 37, and i have only one flower box.
When i look at the first shop in the game, then it says that i need more smurfs.
I dont know how i get more flowers in boxes.

There are 2 options:
Option 1: Wait for next level to get more smurfs. This option is wait too long.
Option 2: Delete a plot of land to free up a smurf for flower box.
Btw. Planting flowers are nice but not as efficient as planting crops .
I also have a tip for you. When you water neighbor flowers, you only need to water 1 flower and the rest of the flowers will be watered automatically when you leave the village. Try it, just water 1 flower, leave the village , come back in village and you dont see any flowers need watering.
We've done some tests and have proved all flowers were indeed watered by watering just 1.
Even if its not time to leave a gift, I will check my friend's villages to see if they need water. Often, I will water their plants and then return to the same village a little while later and those same plants have the watering can over them again. Anyone else experience this or is there a reason why I can water the same plants several times in the same day?
This is a bug which you can ignore. Actually, the trick, as offered by one of our admins, is you need only to water ONE watering can, and the rest will be automatically watered. Your friend will see his or her friends all watered the next they log in.

I see my friends sometimes have watered mine, and on my end I get the water-bouncing-symbol above the flower box. So I tap it and a Smurf is tasked for another 12-18-24 hours watering the flowers… Do I get XP at the end of that again without spending coins on the flowers? Is that the benefit of watering your friends flowers?
Yes. the benefit of having friends water your flowers is so you need not spend any coins in planting and harvesting your flowers.

I am level 15 but i'm so sad I don't know what I have to do to use friends to water my flowers. My phone is an android one so I can't use the game center. Can you help me explaining how the Facebook method works? I can get friends from facebook but i don't know what i have to do after that. Do both of us need to be loged on Facebook from the phone in the same time? Because now I am friend with someone that is playing smurfs village and nothing is happaning…

After a friend has watered my flowers and the watering can appears above the flowers in my village, how long will it stay that way? Is it imperative to receive the water before a certain time period elapses?
After allowing more than 24 hours, it was still possible to receive the water (had no patience to wait longer.)
When a Smurf has left the village on a quest, a farm, flower or shrub has to be left unattended. It would be a shame to loose a watered flower.
As soon as the watering can appears above your flowers you can leave it there as long as you want, they will never wilt.

No, it is just a decorative item and will give you gold every couple of hours, but it has no real watering functions.

As I said, at least a couple of the flowers should already be unlocked. You can find many neighbours on the game's facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/SmurfsVillage . There many people post their Game Center ID's or ask to be added via Facebook.
Does anyone know if getting your flowers watered by a friend counts towards the 20 flowers?
It is not enough to regrow existing flowers after they got watered, you have to delete the flowers from the box and plant new ones. Then you do not even have to finish them, just planting and immediately deleting them will do the trick.
Where can I find the boxes to plant the flowers in?! I have to get 20 for a task and I only have one…
You can buy them in the first shop.You do not even have to finish the flowers and you do not need 20 boxes, though, just planting and immediately deleting the flower seed will do the trick if you repeat it 20 times.

You tap on the crop/flower and the information window pops up. At the picture of the crop/flower there is a red circle, tap it to delete.

I was able to water my friend's flowers but they can't water mine. why is this still a problem?
The watering has been improved, but Beeline is still having issues with that. We do not know when and if they will be able to fix it permanently.
i’m on level 22 and just got the task to plant 20 boxes of flowers but I don’t have enough smurfs. anyone know how I’m suppose to complete this task? I only have 2 flower boxes. thinking it will take me a week to complete this task with only the 2 boxes
You have to add new flower boxes. Either add new smurfs or delete a crop field/shrub and plant a flower box for it instead
You only need 1 flower box. You do not need to harvest. Just plant. Then delete the crop and plant again. It doesn’t take long–I completed the task this afternoon in a few minutes.

Nope, the potted flower is the only item available that can not be bought. You can only get it as a gift from your friends/neighbours.

Yes, you must harvest in the same time it took the flower to grow, i.e. if it grows in 12 hours, you have to harvest within the following 12 hours and it needs to be watered within the 12 hours after the harvest. If it has been watered, however, you do not have to start over the flower within a time limit, you can leave the water can above it forever, it will not wilt.
I really don’t like the flower beds cause after u’ve got your xp and the task is complete, there really isn’t anything for the smurfs assigned to that task to do. I don’t have enough plots of land for them to plant anything so they just wonder about aimlessly, a bit like a lot of redundant civil servants in London.

I have no friends that play this game, so I'm not able to receive seeds as "gifts" to plant flowers. Do I have to buy them with smurfberries instead? My daughter plays this game and we are unable to ask for any further tasks from Papa smurf until we plant some flowers.
You can not buy the seeds with smurfberries, though you could buy nat smurfling who unlocks the seeds as well. However, you do not need seeds from neighbours to complete the task, as the article says, some of the seeds are given to you as soon as you reach the minimum level to place flowers. Just place a flower box and tap on it, then you will see which seeds are available to you.
I too have been unusable to receive water once my Neighbour had watered my plants. I hope it will be fixed soon.
Thanks for your reply! I bought Nat about 3 days ago, and it's been since then- but it is probably pure coincidence. I don't get the 'receive water' thingy about my flowers once a friend has watered them, so my friends keep having the 'need water' thingy (I'm using the technical terms lol) appear when they visit my village. I'll just have to wait it out and hope it rights itself. Sad to see my flowers withered though.

I'm having trouble with my flowers. Since I bought Nat Smurfling, when my friends water my flowers, it doesn't work! They water them, go out of my village, go back in, and they need watering again. In my village, they never show as watered, and wither every time
I've installed the new update, turned my iphone off and on…. I can't think of what else to do! Is anyone else having this trouble? As I said, it only seems to have started since I bought Nat.
It is normal that your friends still see that water can when they reenter your village after having watered the flowers. Only when you open your game is the online saved version updated and the cans disappear. At the moment there seem to be some kind of server issues as many people can not receive gifts and water. I do not now when you bought Nat Smurfling, but it has nothing to do with him. It should work again soon. How long have you been having these troubles?
I have been unable to receive water for 2 days. I have tried logging off, power down the iPad and iPod but nothing works. However, I can receive gifts.
There are still issues with visiting friends and receiving gifts/water from neighbours. Beeline is working on it, but there is nothing you can do about it at the moment.

I watered my friend's flowers, but they apear not to be watered as he receives the message according to the flowers will wilt if they are not watered in x houres… When I enter to water again, i do not see any water can any more. It is usually a server issue if something like this happens. Your friend needs to be connected to the Internet and logged into the service you use to connect (that means either Game Center or Facebook). Then he should get the water, if he does not, restarting the device might help
in my 1.1.5 version the tulips are 18h, 12h and 8h (for your chart above)

hi, i am on level 18. my flowers always wither because there is never a watering can above them when the time comes to water them. i've already turned my ipad off and back on, updated the software, uninstalled and installed back up. nothing really works. can anyone chime in? i appreciate it.
You can not water them yourself, the watercan only appears if one of your friends waters them. Are you sure your friends watered them? And are you logged into the service that you and your friend use to connect (that is into either Game Center or Facebook)
im on level 21 and cant get past the quest where i have to plant a flower in a box? how do you get friends to give them too you? because none of my friends can

You do not need a friend to give them to you, just buy a flower box and tap it, there you will have at least one seed that you can use immediately without a friend having to give it to you

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. My Internet connection was fine and I was properly connected to Game Center. I even signed out and logged in again, but the watering can still didn’t show. In the end I just powered off and on my phone again, and it finally works this time. Thank you for helping me save my flowers!

No, you are not doing something wrong. If you water your friends flowers they have to open and play your game to "receive" the water. If they do not do that in time (i.e. if the time they have until the flowers wither has come before they play the game again) the flowers will die anyways.
Hi, how do I “received” the water exactly? My friend had watered my flowers for me but when I went back into my game, my flowers are still indicated as not watered and they are withering! Any prompt reply is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
You have to have Internet connection and be connected to the service you use (Facebook or/and GameCenter). Then after a minute or so the game should update and all your flowers should have water cans above them. Just tap them to receive the water
I think you need to add a few more levels and I also think that at night time it could be a little brighter… like the street lights should be a litte brighter or something

when they give me the seeds as flowers, how do I use them without paying them .. ’cause every time I always have to pay if my friends gives them to me?
If a friend gives you a seed, that means the seed is unlocked and now for you available to plant. This is only required once, every other seed of the same flower that you get from your friends does nothing. A seed as a gift is a way to unlock them for use without having to buy Nat Smurfling for that with Smurfberries, it does not give you the option to plant them without having to pay for them. Everytime you plant a flower, you will have to pay Coins for it. However, if your flowers get watered in time by your friends/neihgbours you they can then blossom and give XP again without having to pay for it again.
Is there some way to water your own roses without a friend I have tried to get someone to water mine but it won't work. I've signed into game center and Facebook.
The only way to do that is to create a second village via Game Center and then add yourself as a friend, switch to the second village to water the flowers in your first (and vice versa).
I opened Game Center (on iPhone) to start a second village but I don’t see how. Can you point me in the right direction?
You have to log out of your current account (press your email adress in the me section) and then create a second account. Then you can switch accounts to play either village.
If I get a seed from a friend, example dasisies, can I plant them every time or for one time
It will stay permanently, you will only have to get a seed once to unlock it, after that you can use it as many times as you want.

Some flowers are accessible without having to get the seeds from your friends. You also only need to receive those seeds once from one friend to unlock it. All flowers that say "needs seed" need to be unlocked by a friend giving you that flower seed once, all the seeds that you can now plant will not disappear.

No, you can’t. You can use Farmer’s Plant All and Harvest All function to do that with crops, but not with the flowers or the fruits growing on shrubs/trees
You can do with flowers, but you will need nat smurfling and upgrade it and no, you can't plant all at once with shrubs.
Im on level 23 and i can only grow the roses and pink tulips the rest i need a frend to give me but none of my friends have the seeds and there on level 20
If no one of your friends can give you the flower, you could buy Nat Smurfling, than all flowers will be unlocked. If you do not want to spend Smurfberries for that, you have to find friends who have the seeds unlocked or wait untill your friends have. It is part of the concept of the game that you can not get the flowers by yourself, but friends have to give the seeds to you first.

When they are done, there will be a sign with a seed above them. Just tap on it and you get the XP

yes!!!! i know that myself and one other person who have had the same problem. It happens every time I go to water them or vice versa.
That is normal, the water can will only disappear once the owner of the village has opened the game himsef/herself so the online version of the game can be updated. It is enough to just water once
