Grouchy Smurf appears rather late during the game, at around level 15. Papa Smurf again gives the task to search the forest and after that is completed Grouchy is found and returns to the village. To get Grouchy Smurf it is important to regularly do Papa’s quests, especially the ones given right after a new level has been reached, otherwise he will not give the order to search for Grouchy until all of his previous tasks, which should have been done before he asks to find Grouchy, have been completed.
Grouchy Smurf gives 100 XP per day; he is ready to give the bonus XP as soon as a thundercloud appears above his head, taping him then instantly gives the XP.
Like Jokey Smurf, Grouchy does not have his own mushroom house and he is not stationary, he walks around the village with the other Smurfs.
When a new level is reached, Grouchy always has some tasks of his own, which, like Papa Smurf’s quest, give extra XP once completed. Unlike Papa, however, Grouchy runs out of tasks after a while and does not give new quests until the next level is reached. A yellow “!” above his head indicates that Grouchy has a task that needs to be completed.
Missing Grouchy after Christmas Quest:
This issue has been fixed for iOS users with the update 1.1.5.1.. That probably means it will be fixed for Android users with the next update as well.
Grouchy’s “Harvest 30 Tulips” quest in Smurfs’ Village
Many Smurfs village players are struggling to complete Grouchy’s quest “Harvest 30 Tulips” , it looks like a buggy quest but in fact is quite tricky and you can overcome it easily, find out the solution for this quest on this page.
I am at level 29 and have never received any quests from Papa Smurf other than play Baker Smurf's game. I have upgraded…. still only play Baker Smurf's game. WTH is going on? I have cycled my ipad, upgraded the game, made sure I was signed on to the Game Center. I just don;t get it. Can someone help??
Usually, Papa Smurf asks for you to bake a specific item. You have to do that successfully and then place the item (cake or whatever it is) in your village. Then he will say task completed and move on.
I don’t receive more tasks from Grouchy, Smurfette and Alchemist!! I’m at level 34 and I noticed this already since level 27/28, don’t remember exactly! It’s a bug or they just finished their tasks?!?

I deleted your other two comments, it is better to only post them in one section in the future. Regarding the tasks, the special Smurfs (except Papa Smurf) will run out of quests after a while and especially for the higher levels (from 30 onwards) Beeline has not yet added too many new storyline quests. That means it is possible that they will start again in one of the future updates, but for now they are done.

I am at level 16. Grouchy has a quest "papa smurf wants to plant some flowers to cheer me up" which gives 600xp if completed.I already have 2 flower beds in which I've planted daisies and roses. Yet, the quest is still not completed. What should I do to complete this quest?
You do not have to use the flowers that you can grow yourself in the flower boxes, just buy some flowers from the second shop that are already grown.

I'm on level 15 and need to build a snowsmurf for Grouchy. Which one is it? I bought the snowman (50 coins) but it didn't seem to work. Before I buy the white smurf 150 coins I want to make sure. Is he the one I buy?

I am halfway through the Christmas quest where grouchy wants to add a star to the Christmas tree. Papa surf says to update the tree but I do not know how.. I am currently level 15.

Grouchy is currently moping around my village because I cannot figure how to have him plant 40 crops of artichokes, any suggestions on how to do this?

Just plant as many gardens as you can, keep count. And when you get 40 the quest will be complete. He does not actually plant them himself… Hope this helps!

It means Smurfette will only be in your village until Christmas (though she is probably going to stay until the new update has been released, even if Christmas is over). After that, unless you buy her hut for 30 Smurfberries, she will leave again.

Huh? My Smurfette has gone even though I didn't update it!
I thought that she would just disappear after Christmas, but then I heard of people who still had her, so I assumed she would stay until the next update, because that is how they handled it when she was therre for free on last years Valentine's day. However, it seems Beeline has remotely removed her, just not immediately after Christmas.

No, but it will probably not be fixed before the next update as that is the only way for Beeline to distribute any kind of bug fixes that are not server related

Papa smurf is saying grow crop of radishes, lettuce, green peppers. Have done twice 1 of each but it won't reward me. Do the 3 crops need to harvest @ same time for this to finish task?

This regards Smurfette, not Grouchy. If you want her to stay after Christmas you have to buy her house from the Smurfberry Shop and place it in your village, otherwise she will be removed with the next update.

In this snow update grouchy gone the new year task and come back after that. Then he just disappeared. I turn off and turn on my device for billion times so don’t say it for the solution. Please help me.
It is an error/bug that has been happening, there is nothing you can do, Beeline needs to fix it.

It is an error/bug that has been happening, there is nothing you can do, Beeline needs to fix it. What Jokey gives is choosen randomly, just stick with it, he will give you a normal present again soon.

Color me smurfy! I have 2 Grouchy Smurfs walkin around my village. Don’t know how, obviously some type of glitch.

In the new update there is some bugs and one of them is Grouchy disappearance. There are about more than a 100 comments talking about the same problem and Smurfette had answered them all but no one reads. So stop asking the same question about Grouchy, Macro,Upgrading the tree, etc…..
Also, the bug has been fixed. Uptate it, SO THERE WOULD BE NO MORE COMMENTS ABOUT GROUCHY!!!

There is already a thread in the support forum of Beeline’s Facebook page ( http://facebook.com/BeelineGames ). There, from time to time, the employees of Beeline themselves give Feedback there, so if you want to get them to work on the problem faster, I would advice to post there.

Beeline is still investigating the Grouchy issue, they have not yet announced how and when he can come back. I do not really understand your SmurfGrabber issue, do you mean you are missing the game on your device? Then you need to reinstall it.

As the update from Beeline in the article above says, they will fix it within the next two updates, that means either this coming update or at least the one after that. I am hoping it gets fixed with this update, but we just have to wait and see.

Beeline is still looking into the issue regarding Grouchy, there is nothing you can do about it until then.
You can upgrade the christmas tree by tapping on the brown stand at the foot of the tree. But this only applies to the christmas tree that costs $750. Not the others.
&As for Grouchy, please do read the comments and replies above. I am missing Grouchy too but like what Smurfette answered, this seems to be a technical problem. So until Beeline solves it, there is nothing much to do.

Vincent you can upgrade the Christmas tree by clicking on it, there is only one particular Christmas tree you can upgrade. The one you purchase on the house tab (not those on the star tab).
Guys… can you please help me… I can’t find grouchy in my village to… after the series of quest that papa instructed me… the last quest was baking the blueberries and after that i looked after him and i cant find him anymore… grouchy is a very big help for xp purposes… and besides I love him a lot…

I cant find grouchy anywhere! I upgraded the tree cooked a blueberry cake the other smurfs said “grouchy your back!” and now I can’t find him, I restarted my iPod, deleted the game and re installed it (after backing it up first!!) but nothing has worked!! Please help

But as you did not seem to be willing to read my answer to the other comments, again for you: There is nothing you can do about that at the moment. The only thing you can try is to restart the device, but this has to be fixed by Beeline!.

Mine has disappeared from my village however when I look at my village from a friends phone I can see him. But since he gone to the forest he disappeared

You have to tap at the bottom were the wooden cross is and it only works on the tree that costs 750 Coins and can only be placed once in the village.

Of course your village works like that, I am using an iPhone 4 as well. You have to tap on the correct tree (make sure you are not using the wrong one). It is correct that the tree has already been placed, after that you have to tap on the bottom of the tree (in the village where it is, not in the shop) and an upgrade window will pop open.

Are you sure he returned from his quest? If so, try restarting your device, that usually helps with those kind of issues.
What is the last grouchy's quest? Isn't putting the star on the top of the x-mas tree is the last quest?

Before you delete your game you should make a backup via iTunes and then only delete the app if you have your village connected to Game Center, otherwise you might loose your village.
Grouchy still appear when I open the map(menu, I think) but when I come back to my village… He’s not there

There is a quest that sends Grouchy out on a mission for a while, are you sure you are not doing that at the moment?

There are two kinds, one is a snowman and one a snowsmurf (i.e. a snowman who has the form of a smurf). Try the other one if the one you bought did not work.

You have to tap the bottom of the Christmas Tree, then a Upgrade window pops up.

At Level 21, I tapped on grouchy which started a conversation mainly between papa and grouchy about "Compliments day". At the end though, no quest was given. Just wondering if that seems right seeing as most story cutscenes result in a new quest.
It happened again today. A story cutscene between jokey and grouchy that didn't produce a quest afterwards. That seem right to everyone?
Not really. Have you tried the new update? Maybe that fixes it.

Im at level 17 and a similare thing hapened. A dialog opened about the color blue and that grouchy dident like it. Then the dialog stopped, and no quest. Any ideas?
And what are the udates, and how to get them? My android is set to automaticly update the prog, is that enogh?
Regarding this issue, I can only advice to contact Beeline if it does not fix itself with the next level (i.e. he gives quests again). Do you have the version with the snow? If so, then your game has updated itself. Updates are released regularly with new content. If you want to check if a new update is available, just go the game on the Android Market and check if it says there is a new update available.

Just turned level 21 now, same thing. I press the ! on grouchy and a dialog starts, but does not give a quest at the end. Has happened on many levels so far.
how are they affected
They will not give XP/Gifts anymore if you use the time cheat (i.e. setting the time ahead to harvest crops faster etc.)
If we do the time thing will grouchy do the same as jokey smurf? He wont give xp anymore?
I am not sure about that, but Jokey and Smurfette are affected, so I would bet that this goes for grouchy as well
You have to plant grass that you can buy in the shop for 10 coins
