Animal Houses and the maximum number of animals

The animal habitat in the smurfs village, similar to the island, is a different section of the game, so it is not limited by the character limit. Even if someone is on the character limit, it is still possible to get animals for the habitat.
The animal habitat has, however, its own character limit. In level 9 (when the habitat can be placed inside the village) it is possible to place up to three new animal “houses” (i.e. a logs, stamps or caves in which one additional animal can live) to the habitat. From then on one additional house can be placed within Doctor Smurf’s Animal Habitat. From level 12 onwards a new house can only be placed every two levels.
The maximum number of houses and hence animals is, at the moment, twenty. After that, even if the village reaches a higher level, no new animal house can be placed. This might change in the future, but at the moment there is no way of getting more than twenty animals at the time.
To place one of the animal houses, simply go to the build menu and buy one. The prices range from 30 to 1000 Coins per house.
If a new animal has been caught and is supposed to be placed inside the habitat when there is no more room available for it, either the new animal can be released by pressing the “Release” button or one of the animals inside the habitat needs to be released and replaced by the new animal.
When an animal is released, its current level will be lost and there is no way to retrieve it.
With the latest version (Grandpa Smurf Update) it is now possible to delete habitats. If animals occupy all of the habitats, an animal has to be released first before the habitat can be deleted.
So i am at level 22 and the doctor smurf keeps asking me to buy new pets, even though I have like, ten pets. I mean….buying a pet costs more and more smurf coins every time……what's going on with this game? I don't want to spend 10k on a mouse.

can't remember. I think he asked me to buy a pet when i first started. And then he asked me to buy another pet twice just now. The second time hes asking for a pet is cause he wants the animals to be warm…?
i am playing this game on an ipod and i do not have an animal sanctuary avaiable to buy…. does anyone know why?
Which version of Smurfs village you are using and what level you are now?
Trying to figure out the xp for the hummingbird that u can buy for 4.99
He comes already fed to level 10, so you don’t have to feed him. He earns 500 XP and he doesn’t count toward the 25 animal limit. Buying him allows you to have 26 total.
Is there a chart with XP values of animals?

I am pretty sure that the level 10 value is 10 times level 1 value.

You just have to keep digging. Eventually, you will find it.
Hi all, can somebody tell me what I am able to do with the smurfs in the animal village?
You get xp from it every 8 hours and the xp you get depends on the amount of animals, their levels and which species.

I think they are there to "tend" to the animals. I don't think there is anything we can do with them – no quests or things we can assign them.

I have played at 7 mini games : Baker, Lucky, handy, harmony, miner, sporty association and papa smurf (or alchimist) and the score indicate 6/7). ?
I think the ones on the island don't count. I have the same problem. I have played 7 but it only registers the 5 on the mainland
Try Harmony. Sporty smurf doesn't count as a minigame. I think the ones which do count are Papa, Baker, Handy, Painter, Lazy, Lucky and Harmony.
I don't know if it's just me, but when I moved the flowers in the upper left corner of the sunctuary and placed one of the stumps there, the next time I logged in the stump disappeared and the flowers where back on that spot. The animal stayed, though, so I had 9/8 animals. Tried this several times, always worked. Maybe that'd be a solution for those who want to delete a habitat.
After Bug of boxes of tulips, it is now with thé orange potion. What happen with grouchy schtrouf ? He is really grouchy !
This should be fixed in the coming update…hopefully.
Haha with the halloween updates, the grouchy glitch is still going on. Now he asked for planting 2 flower beds that cant satisfy him.
That is not a glitch. It is his next quest.
I can't remove my habitats from my animal sanctuary im at the max of 20 animals now i got à new bird and want to place this so i released one of my mouses but i can't remove its habitat so i can place à tree for the bird! Someone experience this problem or does someone know how to solve it???? Please help!

I don't think so. Beeline has stated it was never possible to delete habitats.
I am not sure anymore, before this or previous update i was possible to delete a habitat through the move button. Because I had already 20 habitats for the squirrels etc. and i received a bird and I replaced the squirrel habitat with a bird habitat. Now I received a bird and I cannot place it to the animal sanctuary… It makes me sad;(
Have the same problem. Wasted 5 smurfberries getting the bird, now can't use it. Want to give beeline the bird!

After grandpa update it is now possible to delete habitats, if you release the animal, then you go through move button and you can delete the habitat. Now i have two birds and trying to get the third. Now happy:D

Trying to get birds in my habitat, every time I click and pay for a humming bird all I get is the same rodent. Had five of them then released some, getting broke pay 2000 for same animal and not getting a bird! I have 2 trees and no birds!!!!!

I have a papa quest which I do not know what to buy… What is squirrel's log? I bot something similar but the quest had not resolved.
It's a squirrel but you have to place it next to Timder Smurf's mill.
This is a really stupid question. When you tap on an animal and you tap "release" it says it will be gone forever. Does that mean it can't be brought back into the sanctuary, but is running free in the village? Or does it disappear totally from your game, same as deleting something?
Once an animal is released it can't be retrieved, it is gone for good. I had a black rabbit that while feeding the "release" came up and I hit the wrong button. Bummer.
i just got on level 20 an it says i have to wait till level 22 to place a new one.on the preveious level it said i could not plant more houses but now i can.i only have 9 animal.how come i cant place anymore animal houses?
You can buy a new animal habitat every 2 levels.
I have max habitats for the animals but now want a tree for birds and I can't delete them
If you have already built 20 habitats, then you can't build anymore at the moment. Beeline will add on more features to the sanctuary in future updates, like adding more habitats or deleting them.

Yes, I have this problem too. I spend SB to get a new animal after releasing one… And I got a bird but couldn't add to the sancturary because I cannot delete any other habitats to place a tree. Very frustrating!
Yes that's frustrating. I hope they will add the remove of habitats in the next update.
Same for me, did the same mistake: released a grey mouse, that was already on level 8, to get a bird, that I attracted with 5 smurberries, and I got a bird! That bird is now sitting on that log with no available habitat in the sanctuary. And since I have 20 habitats already, I can't add a required tree for that bird or delete one of those habitats that I already bought. In the "move" mode, it shows the delete symbol, but nothing happens when pressing it.
I am so sick from all those bugs in the game!!! I wish Beeline would start listening to their users and stop adding new features and instead make the game more stable and glitch and bug free! Many of their players spent real money for it and feel ripped already!
What does the carrot sign mean by animal house I have feed all the animals and leveled them to the highest level and it’s still there
It's just an icon to indicate where to tap on the stump to attract critters. You can ignore it.
I cant open My game after THE new update please help

Ignore the carrot icon…it is just an indicator on where to tap on the stump to attract animals.

With the latest update I got a bird for the animal sanctuary. I was at the maximum number so I released an animal but it is impossible to delete a habitat to put a tree in there instead. Is this s bug or am I missing something?
You can also buy another habitat but don't release it. If you've ran out off space delete one if your sanctuary isn't full.
But you have just told me you cannot delete a habitat!
The current cap is 20 habitats, and you can't delete any at the moment, at least not until subsequent updates when more features are added to the sanctuary.

With the latest release today, you can buy a tree and have birds inside the sanctuary.
However I already have 20 'houses' amd animals. It is easy to release an animal but how can I 'delete' a house and replace it with a tree?

Three of my Smurfs (besides Doctor) are inside the sanctuary. Does that mean they are lost to my village?
I don't think there are lost, if it is not part of the game it means that is a bug which will hopefully get fixed soon
I am level 30 but when I click on the sanctuary it says "Animals 2/2" So if I get a new animal that means I have to release one, right?
No, you can also buy a new habitat for an animal.
Hi all what can you do with the smurfs in the animal vilage?
I am tried of the constant bugs. This game is great at first….but then they just try to earn more money instead of making it good….There are a lot of bugs in different version and which is totally unacceptable! Even a free game would be far better than that! We do use our real money and we deserve more!!
Tracker smurf is also in mine habitat. And I have à lot of smurfs who does give double water on THE gardens
only good thing about this update is smurfs riding on guinea pigs!
PS for those of you that have the double watering smurf issues, i closed my program a few times till they stop double watering, that seems to fix the problem for me at least…
Is tracker supposed to be inside the habitat? Mine is there, and he’s kinda stuck with a sliver of a message popup following him around… And he hasnt wirked since the update/ it says he needs internet – though reporter works sporadically
He shouldn't be in there. That's probably a bug.

The latest version of smurfy village is very buggy but not all of them are bad. I have found 2 new ones. One allows you to get unlimited xp at around 200xp a time and the other allows you to get free smurfy berries. I have videos of both if you are interested. But I am a little reluctant to pass on the berry one at the moment as I’am still using in and don’t want them to patch it yet.

Also there is a bug on the island, when crops grows double time when they should. I hope beeline will fix this soon, as it is really annoying to play with so many bugs.
Since getting this update my smurfs have been disappearing!
I usually have over sixty but at some points up to twenty just
disappear even though none are on adventures
or out in the woods ect. Is this happening to anyone else

what seems to be happening is that multiple smurfs are planting on one plot of ground. It does seem to make the plant grow faster, though.
Try going to the main menu screen via the shop and then back into the game – this sometimes returns just some Smurfs so just repeat until you've got them all back

You need to be inside the animal sanctuary in order to call up the build menu.
My clock was never change yet reporter smurf tell me my time is not correct. What up with that. Every day I tap him he tell me the same thing.

Tap on the stump that is outside the sactuary when you do that you get four different options of treats you can buy, Try with peanuts because the peanuts can you buy for coins instead of smurf beeries
I had 6 animals and 6 habitats but then suddenly I only had 5 habitats. When I went to get my 7th animal, I had to buy 2 more habitats to get the number up to 7. I had now have 10 animals and 9 habitats. I lost 2 of my habitats as of now, and to get my 11th animal, I have to buy 2 more habitats which I really don't want to do. Once the bugs are fixed, will my habitats return?

Tap on the stump that is otside the sanctuary, when you do that you can buy treats to get animals try with peanut first because you can buy those for coins
Same with mine, lost 8-smurfs a I having 8 animals, thought if id release i wil get them back. And same issue with Reporter smurf. My clock is correct and online 24/7. Getting frustrated!
Beeline is going to release a 1.2.6.1 update that will fix most off the bugs but not all.
after i build this animal house and buy the animals, 12 smurfs missing from my village.. how do i retrieve my smurfs back?
Reocover your village till the point you still had them but beware that you'll lose some progress. To recover: Go to options tap Papa Smurf's head 16 times, a recover village button appears. Press it and you'll see a list off saved villages, select one, preview and recover if it's yours.
Also make sure that there aren't 2 or 3 smurfs watering the same garden as that's a common bug at the moment.
I had lost 9 smurfs in the land and 3 in the island..I just did as you said and waited the Tweeter Message disapears itsef to enter the game… My smurfs are back!! I will not recover the game for now… Hope it works…

I have bought 8 habitatsand 6 animals..when i went back into the sanctuary 2 of my habitats are missing…is it a bug?…or am i suppose to get 2 more animals?

Reporter smurf gives me daily 240 coins but never the second day and never get a smurfberry when its promised to get one by twittering…. So waiting for the update desperatetly.
My experience with this: don't tap reporter more than once a day. tap just when there is newspaper sign over his head.
i have the same i mis a lot of smurf ± 12 to grow plants ? but when i restart the Iphone and than wait for ± 15 Min than there are ± 15 smurf available so is a calculating bug ?
I had the same problem, so I tried to look for the missing smurf and found out that sometimes 2 or 3 smurfs are planting one crop, and that's why your are short in smurf all of sudden. This is one of the bugs since the game update…..you can get out of the game and get in again, it should fix itself (you should see the missing smurf become available again).
I'm missing a lot of Smurf's now… I did released animals but did not get my smurf's back…
I think there is a bug with the missing smurfs and it may not be related to the animals at all. I see two smurfs watering one plot of land in my village. Sometimes if I leave long enough to have to deny tweeting ( this annoys me more than the bugs since I do not tweet or Facebook) the smurfs come back.
You can only miss one smurf when he's riding an animal, the multiple watering is a bug.
I notice when buying an animal there is a -smurf symbol that appears and then fades. I seem to be missing smurfs now. Do you lose a smurf when you buy an animal? If so do you get them back if you release the animal? I have to admit I am a bit frustrated with the constant bugs.
No, I think that's a bug. I think the sighn means that you have got room for one more pet.
