Crashing App (Game won’t open)

Sometimes it can happen that the game either crashes while playing or during the opening process. In general this does not matter and is due to lack of memory. Just completely close the app via the multitask bar (double tap on the home button) and restart the game. Everything should work fine now.
If it does not work and the game still won’t open there are a couple of things that might help. If the game does open but you are back to level 1 (or any other level below your current status) stop playing and see our “Recover Village” section.
1. Turn the device off and on again
The first thing that might help to get the game working again is doing a hardware power cycle of your device. Just click on the sleep button on your device (the little black button at the top right corner) until “slide to power off” appears on the screen. After turning it off, wait a minute or so and turn the device on again by pressing the home button. If everything has started again (that might take a moment) try opening the app again.
2. Log out of Facebook and/or Game Center
Sometimes Game Center or Facebook can cause crashes of the app (for example if you have added too many neighbours for the game to handle) and it might help to log out of those services. If you are using both, log out of both of them, if the game works after that you can log back into one of them to see which one caused the problem. It might also work with both Game Center and Facebook if you are always only signed in to one of those services at the same time.
To sign out of Facebook, open the Smurf’s Village App and on the main menu screen click “Options” then “Manage Friends”. Just click on “Change Account” and you will be logged out. When the Facebook Pop-Up appears, do not give your information again, just tap on the “x” in the top right corner. If it says “Log In Now” instead of “Change Account” you are already signed out.
To sign out of Game Center you have to open the Game Center App on your device first (for more information on the Game Center App and where to find it see our “Adding Neighbours” section), then at the bottom tap on “Me” and then on the banner with your account (it should say something like “Account: youremail@mail.de”). After that a Pop-Up appears, click on the “Sign Out” button and then try opening the Smurf’s Village App again.
3. Play the Game without Internet Connection
If all of the methods stated above do not help, you can always try to play the game without any connection to the Internet. This is not a long-term solution but might help you to get your game to start so you can, for example, save your crops before they wither.
On an iPhone or iPad simply go into Settings and turn the Airplane Mode on. If the Airplane mode is not available (for example on some versions of the iPod Touch), just go to Settings -> Network -> Wi-Fi and turn that off.
4. Sync your device to iTunes
Another thing that can sometimes help is to sync your device to iTunes (iOS only). Just plug it into your computer and connect it to iTunes, then open iTunes and choose your device. At the bottom right corner is a “Sync” Button. After your device has finished synchronizing, disconnect it and try opening the game.
On my Samsung Galaxy 2 S this problem happens really often. Usually the problem presented itself so.
I tap on the game icon to start it, I see the orange splash screen and after the loading time I see for a fraction of a second my smurf village (no menu screen at all), after that the game crashes. I was previously able to "fix" this bug by tapping the [back] button on my phone, and by doing so starting again from the menu. I also noticed you can tap repeatedly the [menu] button to increase the lenght of the "village screen" before it crashes.
Sadly this last time, I wasn't able to fix it that way, the screen were I'm able to see the smurf village is too short, and i'm not quick enough to press [back]. So I'm still faiting for a fix. I hoped the recend update would end my problems, but it did not. No bugfixes are in the changelog, which made me really sad.
I hope you can fix this problem soon.
As we are not Beeline, we can not fix this issue. Please contact them if you have not done so at support@beeline-i.com so they can add it to their list of things to fix.
make sure that option "Set Automatically" button for time is turned off. This does the trick. im back in the game!
One thing that y'all can try to stop "Smurfs' Village" from crashing is by deleting some Apps, Pictures, and Videos on y'alls iPhones, iPads, iPods, and Androids. That way y'all will have more memory. That's what I did for my iPad and it worked.
If it takes more than 40% free memory, maybe it is time I stop using this time waster. This is the first really major problem I've had with the game, but Nothing I've done will get this to start again. If a new update doesn't fix it, then I'm done. Thank god I didn't spend more than $15 on Smurfberry purchases in the last year!
dond know what platforms u r playing on. Its working fine on iphone4. Just make sure u close all other background apps.
I just bought the storage hut today and whenever I try to move something into it, my game crashes. Kinda annoying since all apps are up to date and I have tried closing the app also. Please help!
Have you tried rebooting your device? And the other alternative would be to restore your game to before you bought the storage hut. If all else fails, you might want to e-mail to Beeline for some technical assistance.
and i think the games are back to level1 again and i know from papa smurf quest to find jockey in the forest OMG what happen with my village

u need to run level recovery. From game main menu, options, tap on papa smurf head 16 times until recover game button appears, tap on recover game button, select level to recover.
I’ve already done those advices above but it didnt work, i still cant visit the new island, everytime i tap the ship and tap “yes” when it asks “visit the new island ?” the app crashes. What should i do. ?
The new island is buggy. I have a village on android and it crashes when traveling to/from the island. It crashes when the boat is about to dock. When I start the app again, I am at the place where I want to be.
Little annoying but i can go to the island and back.

So you are saying the app still crashes everytime you tap on the ship? If that is the case, I'm afraid you may have to either restore your game to an earlier time and try the quests again…OR…have you gotten the latest update from the App store that was released 2 days ago? Perhaps that update will help.
The update is what is causing the crash at least for me it is.

I am having the same problem. I am very disappointed with Beeline's quality. They are selling Smurfberries to my 7 year old son, but he can't play the game because it won't launch. We got a crash on the Orange Beeline opening screen for the last few weeks. I have tried every potential fix I could find on the web multiple times: closing other programs, hard reboot, changing the system clock, restore of factory settings and reinstall–nothing works. This seems to be pretty common. Beeline's quality really sucks and they shouldn't sell things that do not work to young kids. We waited for today's update, but even after installing today's update, we still get a crash. Any help is appreciated, but getting ready to abandon the Smurt's and Beeline for good.

I have tried all the given methods but I haven’t been able to open my village. I have deleted half of my apps but this still didnt help. Cud u PLEASE help me?? I was at level 31 at 82%. I really wud hate to lose my village…
Have you rebooted your device ? This usually fixes the problem. Press power button until red slider appears, slide to turn off. Press power button to turn on.
If you are using game center, dont worry about losing your village because you can take your village with you when you move to a new device. If not using game center, start using now when you get a chance.
If it still doesnt fix the problem, try this test
1) Go to device setting and turn ON airplane mode.
2) Start the game and see if it comes up.
3) Go back to device setting and turn OFF airplane mode
I tried these methods just now. At first the orange beeline screen was coming up. But after rebooting my device, only the first blue screen (the one showing the copyright ) is coming up. Do I have to delete the game and start all over again???
At first when my wifes 3GS smurfs started crashing this morning and my 4 was ok all day and now its doing the same as her's, i am now convinced beeline have made a mess up of their last update.
Am hopefully going to find out if updating wifee's to 5.1 will help.
Anything else on this page has not solved the issue of it crashing at the end of the orange beeline boot up screen. ggrrrr, very frustrating and to be fair, off putting.

I have 2 villages running on an iphone 4 without any problem. My iphone4 still running ios4.2.x
I only run smurf and game center, no other background apps. I shut down all other apps after i use them.
Quickly press circle button twice to see a list of background apps. Press and hold a background app icon until it wiggles, press the – to close it. Press circle button to get out.
I have got back my village!!! All I had to do was to re-install the app and then log in through my game center account and I got back my village!!! Thank you for your help.

My game is also crashing. Level 42. I've tried rebooting, logging in and out of Game centre. Turning on aeroplane mode. Please don't tell me it's lost. I'm not sure I have the heart to do it all again.

i tried all of these but it still didn't work i spent loads of money on smurfberries . i was level 17 and was doing really well but wouldn't load waited 2 hours but still didn't load so i deleated the game what a waste .i am never playing this game again

I have tried all the above, only solution is to delete game, I lost everything, and I started over from level 1. Now on level 2 it crashed again, can't continue.
Just did the most current update today. Now I can not go to the island, the game crashes after the boat leaves the dock. I am on level 28, and have been visiting the island for a few weeks. My roads and dirt plots have also changed/disapeared. Playing on android x…..any ideas. Thanks also restarted phone after update.
On android the island doenst work for some players after the update and Beeline knows about the problem. Can only hope that they will fix al the issues as soon as possible.

1) Turn on airplane mode and launch the game to see if it works
2) The other option is IF YOU ARE USING GAME CENTER, you can delete the app and reinstall again. Game center saves your game level to server so you wont lose it.

Me, too. I am on level 40 and having the same problem…out of the blue (no pun intended) and not right after an update. The airplane mode idea did not fix it.

I'mplaying on ipad2. Have tried everything but nothing works. No game for more than a week. Now waiting for new update, hoping it will solve the problem. Beeline helpless.
Same thing happened to me, here`s the solution:
If you cant get past the orange beeline screen and turning off and on your ipad doesnt work, its a problem of game crashing (like a program crash on a pc), not about wifi settings.
1) Uninstall the game, then it asks you if you wanna keep the game center account settings (i dont exactly remember what it asks for the 2nd question) read it carefully and keep settings/saved stuff or whatever it is
2)Reinstall the game from app store
3) After you have reinstalled it, open the game, hit play button, then you`ll see `choose your village` option which asks you to choose between your current village (whatever your level was) and a village at level 1 (this is obviously start from scratch option) if you choose your village where you left, you should be good.
This worked for me, just be careful at each step not to lose data.
You can uninstall the app IF you are using game center. That's because game center saves your latest game level on game center server.
Do not uninstall game if you are not using game center, because uninstall will wipe out your game data.
I downloaded the last update today (for android) and guess what…..trouble again!! I can't get to my island anymore. I tried to restart my phone……result…..the game crashed totally, I had to install it all over again. I also tried to recover my village but still the same, I'm affraid that my island is reduced to being a memory!!
I've been playing since october 2011 and since than the game crashed and was reinstalled three times, I've had visits from Gargamel twice, I'm at level 37 but don't think I will finish it if I can't solve this problem. It's a shame because I've bought smurfberries several times. So help please?!

Anyway, latest update has prevented many players from going to the island and I have the same problem. No solution at this time.
I used the recover village as described here twice, so I lost only little progress each time, but it's frustrating anyway. I quit the game last weekend. I tried to remove and reinstall the game with the result that I had to start all over again. The Gargamel bug is persitent, the first announcement that was made at level 0, 0% was that Gargamel visited the village………It has been fun, but now it has stopped…….
My game crash at level 22 upon updated. Even so many tap to papa smurf it wont recover and i have to uninstall. When installed new game it keep crashed.

Do you have a game center account? Have you tried to restore a copy through that? Alternatively, do you back up your game at Itunes? If you do, you could also try to get your last saved copy from there?

My guess is u probably have too many background apps running. Close those background apps or just reboot your devices.

I have the same problem as so many have reported before. Since the last update I can't get to the island anymore. The game crashes as the ship is about to arrive. In the old version it crashed too, but then i was at the least at the island. Now after starting the programm again, I'm still in the smurf village.
I hope there will be a patch/ new update soon.
i've tried every tricks I know and there is no workaround for this. I even tried to restore to 1 , 2, 3 days before the update and no dice.

Have the same problem, crashing just before arivving to the island. A workaround for the time being works for me: Go to option menu, tap papa Smurf for ca 17 x and review your latest stored village. In the review mode I can go from the mainland to the island again. Now exit (when on the island) the review mode and don't restore the reviewed game. Go to main menu and tap play. Game starts and your on your island again.
When I try to go back to the main land my game crashes again before arriving there. When I restart I'm on the main land again. Tried everything, this is my only solution to visit my island untill Beeline comes up with a update to solve this annoying bug.

Well for me playing without wifi was usually what i needed to do but lately, it doesn't work anymore… I had bought my ipod touch from my big brother, and i was apparently on his game center account, I had already tried logging off of facebook but it didn't work so i tried game center… it turns out that my brother does not know his game center password so i couldn't log back on… I made a new one and then got on smurf's village and the game had started all over again… how can i get my game back? (I was level 16, and it took me a long time to get to that level)
Unfortunately, if you set up another account, smurf village deems that as new game account, and thus you are starting from scratch…. if you want your level 16 game back, you need to log onto that account.

If you are using game center to launch smurf game, you can reinstall smurf app then the game will pull down your saved level from game center.
Do not reinstall the app if you are NOT using game center because you will lose all game progress and have nothing to recover from.
My smurfs village has crashes on my smasung galexy 2 carnt get past the play, I have turned phone of transferred it from memory card to phone took memory card out tried recovery mode , nothing has worked I'm at level 29 49% I'm am proper sick , just pleased I'm on same level on I pad !
Have u turn on the airplane mode and see if it works ? Otherwise, wait for next update to see if it fixes the problem.

If you are using game center, then you can reinstall the game. Otherwise dont reinstall it because u will lose all progress

I have been having the same issue for the last 2 days… after more than a year of game. To reinstall, do I need to desinstall the app and say "yes" to the fact that all data will be lost ? Pretty scarry… I have seen the game center message popping up many time when playing smurfs but I never managed to have any renking or achievements in it… when I open Game Center and Smurf app zoner in it, it says that last play was today… does it mean my plays are in game center and I can safely desinstall and reinstall ?

Reinstalling will delete all game data on device. Since u r using game center, game center has a copy of you village on server.
After reinstalling, u will start playing from level 1, then game center will prompt u to choose between local level and server level. Pick server level.
If you dont feel good, just plug your device to computer and do a full backup (not sync) before reinstalling.
I have the exact same problem, have submitted a ticket to Beeline but still have not received a response. Hopefully they can fix it, I am so far through this game starting again will not be an option.
Am on Android (HTC desire) and having the same problem it won't load its gets ti the menu but won't load the game. Iv tried turning it off and on… tried taking the batt out, moved it from card to fone memory and took it out me fone etc…. but still won't work! Av contacted beeline but theyve been Absolutey NO HELP!! Av bought Smurfberries and ul to level 23 I am not starting again!! Hope there's a new update SOON!! really not happy any suggestions??

Hi all can someone pls assist I get to beeline orange screen loads almost to end of bar then crashes I've tried closing apps backing up turning off/on resetting phone changing time deleting apps movies etc I'm level 42 spent lots on berries don't want to lose a whole year down the drain. Any one with a further idea????? Please
This is the last option. If u r using game center to launch the game, then you can reinstall the app without losing game level. It will start from lv1 , eventually game center will prompt u to choose local or server . Pick server.
Do a full backup (not sync) to itune before reinstalling the app.

If you are scare, do a FULL backup (not sync) before reinstalling.

Tried everything, beeline even just came out with an update 5-4-12 for the app but still cant get past the orange beeline loading screen, CRASH! level 26, took a long time to get that far. No way I would start another village at level 1 if there is a chance of this happening again. if this is not fixed looks like beeline has lost a customer from all thier apps… hope they can find a way to sort this problem out as it appears that many are having this issue….
I have the same problem on my kids iPod Touches. The orange screen crashes. I've tried rebooting, playing with no internet connection and logging out of game center. For the past two weeks, we were waiting for an update, but it does not fix the problem. This has totally turned the kids off of Smurfs Village and after so long they probably will never get back into it.
Same here. I updated last night, and have tried since early this morning to be able to harvest but it's so slow and just freezing up. I hate to lose 80 plots of pumpkins but that's what's going to happen since I can't do anything.

Reboot device if u haven't already done so. Just press and hold power button.
If it doesn't fix the problem then we dont know why . U can send a note to beeline but I think they will tell u to reboot the device too.

Smurfs Village crashed 1 weekj ago. I sent 3 emails to Beeline. I have a new Ipad 64Gb. Untill now no sucees with the answers ofd Beeline. I have to wait for a solution from the development team!

Vicky the game is more stable now than before and most of the time, it crushes due to the lack in memory, so I advice you to close all the applications are running in the background.
My smurfsvillage crashed at level 22 and the orange screen opens and closes directly.
Sorry, for me no more Beeline anymore, although it was fun to visit my friends.
I'm on level 36 and can't get past the beeline opening screen. I've invested time and money and "poof" it's gone. I'm very computer literate and have done ALL of the suggestions listed but they haven't solved the problem. I've tried contacting the creators of this game to no avail. My iPad isn't having issues with any other apps and I still have loads of memory available so this is a problem with the game itself, not the fore mentioned suggestions of syncing iTunes, turning off Facebook or game center, etc. I think the makers of this game should act more responsibly since they're charging for smurfberries and gladly take our real money!

Why have my smurf's all left the village. I had 14 smurfs, didn't play it for a couple weeks and now only have 2 smurfs. Is this a bug, or do they just leave if you don't play with them?

Think Beeline hasn't resolve the problem yet. Cos my game also crashed after the update. Can't get past the orange beeline loading screen.
Tried restarting my iPhone, log off game centre, still can't work.
