Reporter Smurf

In the Smurfs village  the Doctor Smurf update (version 1.2.6. on iOS) also added Reporter Smurf to the village. Reporter Smurf is available from level 4 onwards on the mainland and can be obtained by completing a quest from Papa Smurf to go and find him. That also means he is absolutely free, costing neither Smurfberries nor Coins. Once Reporter Smurf has been found, he will walk around the village and tapping on him opens the “Daily Smurf”, his newspaper.

Every Day, for opening his newspaper, he will give a different reward such as Coins, Wood and other supplies, XP etc.

To get this reward simply click on “Accept” at the bottom. This way regular players will be rewarded. We do not yet know if there is also the possibility of getting a Smurfberry reward.

To get the bonus the game has to be connected to the Internet (to prevent cheating), otherwise the “Daily Smurf” will still appear but the bonus will be unavailable.

Unfortunately, at the moment, there will sometimes be a message that there is no Internet connection or that the clock is set wrongly even though everything is correct. In that case, it might help to wait a bit before trying again or reopening the game.

Even though there is a “Tweet” button in the Daily Smurf, a twitter account does not have to be set up to get the bonus and have Reporter Smurf in the village. When tapping on the tweet button without having a twitter account, a message will appear that the tweet failed.


(Also note, that if you have a Twitter Account set up on your device, it will ask you permission to access the account when you open the game. At the moment there seems to be a bug that causes the message to appear everytime the game is opened)

        Ah non non, it is not suspended. I look for that first. And I don't have a "tweet failed", just the same idiot way back to the screen loader, and the game exactly the same, reporter waited for a tweet. Hope U can help. It is very frustrating :'(

      No, it does not have anything to do with Android. You have to collect from him every day, if you miss out he will restart. Also, if you change the clock on your device he might also restart.

      There are 2 main reasons why Reporter might have restarted 1. Changing the clock. 2. If you miss a day.

      The same update iOS got is coming to Android soon. Keep checking the game store. We don't know exactly.when Google will release it.

    My reporter smurf won't let me tweet and it jever moves past day 1. I always only get the bonus that is given on day 1. It wont keep count of the days.

      You can open a ticket with Beeline, but before you do, check to see if your twitter account has been suspended. Also, delete any previous tweets that may have been private. If you miss a day, Reporter resets to Day 1.

      It usually means your device is not set to the correct time. Check if it has the right time and also if you have the correct time zone.

      If you have made sure that they are both Correct and it still Seems to be saying " Bad Device Time" please tell me and I might have a Solution if I cannot find a solution, I will let you know so you can ask beeline about it. I am very sorry to hear that you and many other people including me, are reporting problems with Reporter |:-(.

        It is most probably an issue on Beeline's side, and it will resolve itself when Beeline fixes it.

    I just got an android phone and trying to tweet, but it keeps saying "Authorize Smurfs' Village Android to use your account?" I have a twitter account and I installed it but still shows this message. I used to have an apple iPod and had no problems tweeting. Can you help?

      Especially if you are using the same Twitter account as you used for your iPad, you must first revoke the SV app authorization for iOS from your Twitter account. You must not try to do this from your mobile device, or it will not work. You can only see the apps you have authorized to tweet on your behalf from a full web browser because the mobile applications do not allow you to see the same options as you would from your PC or laptop. Open Twitter from your desktop web browser. Open your settings. You should see a category "Apps". Click on that and locate the SV app permissions. Revoke those permissions. Exit Twitter. Open your Smurfs' Village game. Find Reporter. From Reporter's screen login to Twitter. Follow the steps to authorize the SV Twitter app for Android. You should automatically return to Reporter's screen and should be able to tweet.

        Tried that, doesn't work after I autorised the app (It seem it did not appear in my twitter parameter that the app required autorisation) and return to the game starting page. But I use to have reporter smurf, worked well than one day it bug. I was waiting for a update who resolve problem. still waiting after the 155 update :/

      It is a bug, Beeline has been working on fixing it for quite some time. It seems that after some updates it gets better then after other updates issues with him come back. Its kind of an up and down with Reporter at the moment.

  10. I had collected over 380 consecutive days and the darn thing resets to 1. Is there ANYTHING that can be done? If I recover the game from the day before it happened will that recover it?

      I am sorry, but I don't think there is anything you can do. if you restore the game will still register that there is a time difference between now and the last collection. You could reset your date and then try to restore, then gradually increase the time of your device. But I can't guarantee that it will work and you could get punished for time cheating, depending on how long the time difference is.

      I have to say, it would be nice to to add Vanity Smurf to a new update for Android Users. IOS Players are very Lucky, because they have a LOT more things than Android well, It is what it is. Hopefully, Beeline Support will add him for Android.

        I don't think iOS Players have lots of things Android Players don't, as far as I am aware the only thing missing is Vanity. Unless Beeline can figure out how to make him work on Android on all the different camera's and models that are available on the Android platform I don't think he will come available.

          Well, the Camera might not be accessible on my Kindle but I have a Photo album on it, because I can download Pictures on my Kindle so hopefully they could make it work;-)

      Beeline has indicated there is currently an issue with Reporter's tweets, but they haven't given a time frame for resolution.

      Make sure your twitter account has not been suspended. It is the number one reason for failed tweets.

          We heard back from Beeline, and indeed there is some sort of issue on Android, so you're going to have to wait until it is fixed. Keep trying daily, but if it fails, you can assume the problem has not been fixed. Beeline didn't give an ETA as to when it will be fixed.

    I had collected for over 420 days and yesterday it started from day 1. I have not missed a single day and didn't yesterday either, still that happened, is there anything to do?

      It is just an anomoly with Reporter. You likely didn't do anything to cause it, and there isn't anything you can do about it.

    Since this morning reporter smurf tells me that my internet connection does not work or that the time setting on my Phone is not right. I have an internet connection and did not change the time setting on my Phone. I have a Samsung galaxy s3. Until yesterday it worked fine. What can i do to make it work again?

    My reporter smurf keeps coming up with that message saying my time is wrong or I'm not connected to Internet, my time should be right it's on automatic Time and I am connected to the Internet, I don't get why it's not working now its been working for the past few weeks

    Ok for the last time I cannot log into to my twitter account I am andriod I tap reporter and I do not see a login/logout button I have a twitter account and the twitter app on my device and it never asks me to login to twitter and every time I click tweet it says tweet failed I am sick and tierd of this bug any answers. Also it is always on day 1.

      And, as we have advised you in the past, we are not the developer. We are a fan site. You will need to open a ticket with Beeline directly at http://beeline-i.com/support.php and ask them about the issue. The only issue we can think of where you wouldn't have the ability to login and logout of twitter is if you have not entered your age as being over 13. If you're sure you're the correct age to be permitted to tweet and access the internet, and if you've set it up properly, we have no other advice other than for you to open a ticket with the developer.

      There is an issue with bonuses from Reporter since the update. Beeline is aware of it, but we haven't heard about a time for a fix. We just have to wait until Beeline is able to provide a fix for the issue.

    so i made a new twitter account on my tablet and want to change the twitter account on reporter smurf. how do I do that?

      You should tap Reporter. You should see a logout button. Tap it. Logon to your twitter account from a web browser and go to your settings/spps and revoke acccess to the SV app. Logout of twitter. Reopen the game and tap on Reporter. Tap Login. You should be prompted for your credentials and then to authorize the SV app to post on your behalf.

          First, make sure your Twitter account has not been suspended for sending spam tweets. You shoud note, the SB is only rewarded at Beeline's discretion. The bonus for the day is shown to the right of Reporter's face and is labeled "bonus." If you still think you are not getting the day's bonus, open twitter from a web browser, and revoke access to the SV app. If you're playing on an iOS device, you should be able to force a twitter logout from your device somewhere in settings. Reboot your device and open the game. Tap Reporter and try to link the SV app to post on your behalf.

    I'm in a bit of a panic… I have set up a twitter account back when the bug first started in order receive reporter's rewards. However, today it is telling me that I need to make sure I am logged in on twitter through my settings… I've tried everything but can't seem to figure it out! Please help! I've collected everyday for over 230 days and don't want to start back at the beginning!

      What device are you using? Try logging out and back in to twitter. You can also try to remove the smurfs app from your twitter account (settings from the twitter website) and reauthorize it.

      Beeline has removed the Smurfberry bonus, I do not think anyone got one lately. The next update will remove the twitter requirement maybe then the Smurfberry reward will come back, we have to wait and see

      Tap Reporter. You should see an option to login to your Twitter account. You will also be taken to Twitter to authorize SV to tweet on your behalf.

    When I try to connect my twitter account through reporter smurf it takes me to the authorization page I then click authorize and it redirects me back to the game . However the account never actually links. No logout button just the tweet button. No matter how many tkmes I hit tweet, go to authorization page, authorize and get redirected it never actually links. Its a vicious cycle. Any advice?

      Logon to your Twitter account and revoke the SV app from within your twitter account settings. You must di this from your web browser and not from a Twitter app on your mobile device. Reboot your mobile device and try connecting it again. Make sure you have a solid network connection.

        I have done this still no luck just redirects me back to the game and it reloads as if I am just openning the app from my home screen. Beeline has not replied to my ticket at all. I do have an older andriod phone but itused to work. I guess at least now I can get some part of the rewarss.

          We're sorry to hear that Beeline has not responded to your ticket; however, Monday was a United States holiday and Beeline is closed on the weekends. So, depending on when you submitted a ticket, it's possible that Beeline has not been in the office.

          What happens when you open your Twitter account from a web browser and look at your Settings/Apps? Do you see that the SV twitter app has permission to post on your behalf? Is it listed at all? You will only be able to see this information from a web browser, so please make sure when you check this for us that you're on a PC/Laptop when you open Twitter.

    I can't enter by birthdate, so I can't get Reporter Smurf's rewards. I try tapping on the MM or YYYY fields, but no screen opens where I can enter numbers. Is there a trick to enter this info? Anyone else having this issue? I have opened a case with Beeline but haven't heard from them yet.

      No, no tricks. It should allow you to enter the numbers or choose them from the drop-down box. Have you tried exiting the game and rebooting your device and then trying again?

        After about 11 days of no Reporter Smurf, I tried entering my birthdate again, and lo and behold, it worked! I exit the game regularly, but I rarely restart my device, so I think that was what fixed it. Yay!

    I dont have and wont be getting twitter. Why change it in the first place. Please change reporter smurf back to just reporting in each day. Also where is tracker? Hes been gone for months. Another smurf who seems to be overlooked every update.

      You may have missed Beeline's announcement that they are reverting Reporter back the way he used to be prior to them adding the twitter requirement. That change should be implemented in the next update or so. With regard to Tracker, Beeline has temporarily taken him out of the game until they can rewrite how is quests work. They have announced he will be out of the game until further notice and that when they bring him back, they will reintroduce him with fanfare so that there is no confusion as to whether or not he is part of the game.

      Make sure that your twitter account has given Smurfs permission to post. You can also try to log out and back into twitter to see if that helps.

    Just a query.

    Aside from the daily reward which he constantly gave each day, Reporter Smurf used to give 1 smurfberry each week by tweeting his message/report. Was this intentionally stopped or was this an effect of a bug?

    After the last update (naughty update)I was surprised to see that I really had to tweet to get rewards from reporter smurf.
    I do not have a twitteraccount and I do not want one either.
    I wrote to Beeline and got this answer if they could change it back so I did not need to tweet to get rewards.

    The last two days my reporter smurf hasn't worked. It says that either my clock on my device is wrong or I'm not connected to the internet. I can access my friends villages so I know I am online and my clock is set to automatic time and I have never used the time cheat. On android tablet.

      Check the following:

      1) make sure your twitter account has not been suspended
      2) revoke the SV app from your twitter apps. You need to access twitter from a web browser to do this, but from a laptop/desktop instead of mobile device. Go to Settings/Apps.
      3) reboot the device you play from.
      4) re-enter the game and tap Reporter so you can reauthorize the game on your twitter account.

      You may have to try a few times. Eventually, this solution works.

    Why my friend (level 50)rec a sb plus bonus fr reporter everyday, I (level 14) only rec the bonus with no sb. I rec both fr level 1 to 12 till 2 days ago.

      Reporter does not give a SB per day. Beeline had some issues where some players received daily SB from Reporter when they first released the previous iOS update, but they turned that off. SB should only be given at Beeline's discretion. We don't know if the weekly SB will or will not return.

      You may not be aware this is a fan site run by volunteers and not affiliated with Beeline.

      You can unsuspend your account by following the directions in the email they sent you.

    cant get reporter smurf to give anything at all. just always says you need an internet connection (which I have) or my time is incorrect. i admit i did time cheat a couple times, but since then i have completely un-installed and re-installed and he wont give me anything still. been a couple days now since i re-installed.

      Since you reinstalled, you first need to login to twitter and remove the Smurf Village app from the list of authorized apps. Then open the game, and you should be prompted to authorize the game to use your twitter account when you tap on Reporter.

    I appreciate all the advice you give Sassette! I don’t like this newest update for Daily Smurf. I am able to tweet each day and get the daily reward but the bonus tweet seems to no longer work. It also is no longer just a sb. My current bonus is 5 paint but there is no way to tweet twice in one day. Is anyone else having this issue? Is this a bug?
