Review of Smurf Update 1.2.2

Beeline released the 1.2.2 update for Smurf Village on 23 June, 2012. This update came with a lot of goodies, mostly for the island, and a little for the main village. Firstly, level 48 was added to the game, giving players more room to gain xp. For the main village, Lucky Smurf was introduced and he can be purchased with 1200 coins. Lucky Smurf comes with an addictive game that can be played once every 23 hours and players can get exclusive items through Lucky Smurf’s boxes. There are a total of 3 rounds, the first round being free. If you don’t like your gift, you can play two more rounds at a cost of 5 smurfberries and 10 smurfberries respectively.
The biggest surprise in this update was the introduction of Farmer Smurf’s tractor, which was a long awaited feature everyone has been waiting for. Like Farmer Smurf, the tractor comes with a ‘Harvest All’ function, and if you have upgraded Farmer Smurf in the main village, the tractor will also have a ‘Plant All’ function. With this, planting and harvesting crops on the island can now be done with a breeze.
Then, a free land expansion was also added for the island by simply placing steps towards the west cliff at a cost of 10000 coins each. If you have Hefty Smurf in your main village, the time required for each stairs to be completed is approximately 120 hours, or at a cost of 10 to 11 smurfberries per stair. When the stairs are completed, players will have access to a whole new land on the mountains, giving them more space to build and decorate the island. In fact, the island is now much larger with land expansions and things will not be as cramped as before.
Another new feature introduced was Smurfette’s summer house which can be built on the island at a cost of 30 smurfberries. With this, Smurfette can now visit the island and her house comes with a mini game. The mini game is simple as all players need to do is to tap the lovesick smurfs they can find within 10 seconds to gain xp.
The MIAB quests, while still bugged, has a slight improvement made to it. Players can now see what reward they can get upon completion of the MIAB once they tap the bottle. However, as it is still bugged, one might not be so eager to complete it at the moment. The totem pole has also been fixed and players who have gotten it can once again control the rain and they will find that thunder and lighting effects have been added to the island. There’s also a jumping dolphin available for purchase at a pricey 100 smurfberries which gives 600 xp twice a day. A swing chair was also added as a limited sale item for 20 smurfberries and if a smurf walks nearby, he will sit on it.
the scrolling Beeline “Hive News & Information” banner has been replaced with a simple flashing icon with an exclamation point. Also, Beeline reduced the frequency of the pop-up ads that appear when you load the game. They are still there, but should not appear as often as before.
There are also new quests for Papa Smurf, Dreamy, Clockwork and Grouchy Smurf, and with so many new stuff to explore, players will be kept busy until the next update. While there are still bugs existent, this is an overall great update!

I downloaded the latest smurf edition and I lost everything in my village. Cannot build any house and as there is just a patch of green. Had 70 smufs but after update, there were only 54 left.
how do i know if i have saved the smurf village in the Game Center so that it will load my village to the most recent one? i have downloaded and updated the game to the newest version, synced to my iTunes and it wont let me open the game. It has a picture of Smurfette's head, on my iPad, which is dulled out and then has the 'loading' bar across the bottom as if it is trying to download or load. I have tried everything i can think of and am about the delete and reboot through game center but i don't want to loose my village because i have spent lots of $$ on it and i love my village
Hi I downloaded the smurfs off the net and its snowing on my village is there a way I can update it because the android app store says I cant get the game but I have it on my phone.. I logged in my facebook but I cant get friends or view other villages it says I need to update to view a village I need help trying to update it?? Plz
any clue wat I can do? anybody?
you didnt get the game from the official source therefore you can't update it from the official source. It's not available for your device may be because it's not compatible.

I had updated my smurf village to1.2.2.1 then I lost my village. What’s going on? What can I do to get back my village?
To recover your village, go to the game menu, tap options, then tap on Papa Smurf's head 16 times. A 'Recover Village' button should appear on the right hand corner. Tap on it and a list of saved games will appear in the next screen. From there, select your desired saved game, preview it and tap yes to confirm.

How can i complete Papa's take a picture quest?
Are you being asked to take a snapshot of the village? If so, either go into your build menu, tap on the camera icon and take a pic, or you can use Vanity Smurf's camera function. I can't quite recall which option triggers the completion of the quest.
Hi, I have been having trouble with the special items that are offered for a limited time. I would be told I had 24hrs and then just a few hrs later it would be gone. And then with the sand house I had 20 minutes to buy it. Is anyone else having trouble like this? And any ideas on what I can do to fix this situation ? Thanks for your time.
the limited items are pushed from beeline server. Something is wrong with beeline server recently because I've seen some items are offered for only 30min . Some saw the notice and and some didn't see anything. I've missed some limited items too like the bird bath, .. etc.
It has been a few weeks since I'm unable to complete Grouchy's quest (the 30 boxes of tulips) : I tried everything. And since a few days, I am unable to complete Papa Smurf's quest (1 crop of Green Pepper, 1 crop of Radishes and 1 crop of Lettuce). I have the very last version of today … Am I the only one ??
You need to harvest 30 tulips in the same time.
You have to harvest the lettuce, radish and green pepper at the same time. They take 16 hours, 6 hours and 5 mins respectively so if you time your planting right it's quite easy to get them to fruit at the same time.
Ever since I updated the game to version 1.2.2, i haven't gotten a MIAB quest. (it has been about 2-3 weeks) Could this be a bug or glitch? Thanks.
Despite I have not read about this bug, both my husband and me have noticed a new one, this time in the island expansion: two of the three palm trees (the upper and lower ones) stop growing fruits before they are ready, without having received any xp or coins.

Has the new update 1.2.2.1 for apple fixed the miab for anyone. It has been a few days and it has not disappeared yet but I am still afraid to send out smurfs on a miab quest in case they disappear. Pitty though because it is for a totem poll piece.

The loom is available in the build menu, but at a hefty price.
I've been working on Dreamy's dye quest for too long now. I must have sent 20 dye rafts already. I am sending the specific raft for dye, yes, and should only need to send 2. Am I reading the quest incorrectly or is there some other issue here?
24h raft for dye is at the bottom of the list.
I think theres a bug with Dreamys dye quest like Smurfettes corn or Grouchys tulips. I have sent tons of dye rafts & it still hasn't completed. Of couse I lost 3 rafts to a MIAB quest in June and they still havent returned. At least I got the smurfs back but the rafts are ghosted and I cant use them. My smurflings stop dancing and giving XP. I moved Sassettes house and it started working again. Maybe this can help others. Everything else I guess we have to wait on Beeline…
While gifting friends, I’ve seen in their villages, pots of gold “glowing” & gold trophys! Do they come from the Lucky game??

How come the fourth of July wasn’t celebrated on the game through new decorative items or limited times sales like most other holidays?
I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but I haven't been able to receive any gifts since Wed. or Thurs.!!!! I'm able to send gifts and water things, but can't get it in return. I'm not even sure that my friends are actually receiving them or not. Is this a bug? PLEASE HELP ME!!!

hello, I'm an Android user, and after updating today, I cant play. After yellow Beeline sign it just cuts me off the game. Did anybody else experience this problem?? And I just got MIAB quest

Like everyone else, I was hoping the update would fix the MIAB quests. Yesterday sent out 6 smurfs, today bottle is missing (again). But this time so are my smurfs!! Does anyone know how to get them back?

I just achieved a new level (30 to 31). I built a new hut on the main village and upgraded then went to the island to build a new hut and all options are ghosted out with ‘you need to be at level 32′ to build a hut? I thought you were allowed to build a hut on the island and in the main village when you went up a level?

Did you win a house in a MIAB quest? I received a house for one of mine and thought it wouldn't count towards the amount of houses I had. The next day I went up a level and was unable to build a house, which then made the house I got the day before not so great after all!!
i thought i saw someone posted this problem at beeline official page. So basically it gave it to you then took it back
I too could not add a new hut after going up another level on the island.
For last 3 MIAB quests my bottle has disappeared after I started and spent money on doing what it asks. I’ve done it every week since it started but because of various bugs I still only have 2 totem pieces and 2 clockwork smurf pieces. Not happy
I also have got only 2 totem pieces but you can add friends so you will be able to collect bolts so you can finish your Clockwork.
Another new update today, but still Sassette, and the other 2 smurflings won't dance and give me XP. MIAB is still MIA. Anyone else having these problems?
The last 2 updates should have fixed those bugs but they're still there. Let's hope it will be fixed in the next big update.

Try moving Sassettes house. My smurflings started dancing for me after I was rearraging and moving things around. As soon as I moved her house the icon appeared above their house. I tapped on it and they started dancing and I got my experince. I havent had any trouble since. Hope this helps. I do still have 3 rafts missing since June after I sent them on a MIAB quest.
The new update is now available for Android. I just updated and love the tractor…it makes harvesting so much faster!!! MIAB seems to be working for me so far (fingers crossed). I was thinking to purchase Smurfette’s summer hut. Is it worth the Smurfberries?
For the xp I don't think so if you don't have that much smurfs on your island. It's just something to make your island complete.
I am unable to visit any of my friends villages, so unable to give them gifts which means they don’t return the favour. When I try to visit friends villages it comes up with a message telling me I need to update my smurfs application to view their village. I have updated the app on my phone every time it appears in my updates, it was working fine until about two weeks ago, very frustrating!!
Thanks for your help smurfs…..tempted to delete it all together due to this in going problem. So much for a support page!! EPIC FAIL SMURFS VILLAGE.

i'm still having the same problem. it keeps telling my friends that i do not have the latest version which is very frustrating because i need them to send me bolts. would the bug have lasted this long? please tell me what to do.
Update your village to the 1.2.6 version.
I think I might have gotten the fruity fun pack from Lucky. But the crops aren't unlocked. Does the pack look like a cornucopia when you place the item?

Hi yeah I’m level 20 and one day of a sudden it started making me redo all the quest and build on the same things on the island and now same thing with th village. It says I hav 30 smurfs when I had 47. And allll my houses and EVERYTHING is gone. An I just updated it. WHAT HAPPEN?! pleAse reply
There's a glitch to obtain premium stuff like smurfberry, woods, stones or dyes, or items need smurfberries frm Lucky Smurf gift everyday.
Every time u presented w the gift u dont desire, close n quit smurf's village app in multitasking bar & then relaunch the app. Lucky smurf gift is available again. Repeat the procedure til u get what u want.
That trick only works on free gift. Do not use this trick is you already used 5 or 10sb because you will lose your sb and get nothing.
There is a workaround as well for gifts from the smurfberries boxes, if I get one I don't want I restore my village to the last save point & try again till I get one I want! In general though the negatives outweigh the positives in the game for me at the moment, both my games on my iPhone & now on my iPad have stopped receiving gifts so can't complete clockwork,,& also I cant receive the free smurfberries that beeline sent me

It has been almost 5 days that I can't get past orange screen. I have done everything I have read to do, updated game and iPad, synced, tried airplane mode, turning off and back on…nothing works. More than a little frustrated now.
Looks like you have done everything I would have recommended. Your last option is reinstalling the game. If you are using game center, you can try reinstalling the game and see if it fixes the problem. Do not reinstall if you are not using game center or you will lose your village. Make sure you backup (not sync) your device to itune before reinstalling the game.
I don't think I am using game center but I don't know. If I do backup, do I just delete game off device and put it back on through iTunes? I have invested too much time and some money into this and would hate to lose it all.
Game center is an app the came with apple device running on IOS 4.2 or newer . Game center is on the main screen. Game center saves your game on game center server. Without game center, smurf game wont be able to load your saved village on game center server.
I got the same thing for 5 days and what work for me was changing the amounts of emails available at my account. When I did that 30 minutes after, my smurfs where back!!! (I play on iPad)
The same thing happened with my Dream Park (another Beeline game) about another ago. I tried everything, the same as you, I even contacted beeline and got their suggestions but they didn’t work. So I contacted them again and told them their suggestions had not worked and they told me that they had sent the problem to developers who would look into it. That was about a month ago, and I’m still having the same problem and nothing has changed. Beeline never got back to me with why it is happening, so I gave up playing it.

I can't open the village, the Fumbies will pop up and then it crashes. Is anyone else having this problem? Trying to play the game with 15 tries to open it seems excessive to me.

What's with the new update yesterday? One new item (a loom!) but nothing else obvious. Is it a bug fix update do you reckon? Maybe MIAB will work now – there's a first time for everything!
It's only a minor bug update…the MIAB is scheduled to be fixed in the next major update.
Version 1.2.2.1 is out… Any comment about it ? New performance improvement (even more mist) ?
I just got the farmer's tractor, but the plant all function is still locked and it is asking me to upgrade for 15 smurfberries, while already I have upgraded the farmer long time back. Did anyone experience the same?

Yesterday I won the harvest wagon from lucky smurf. I hadn’t bought the harvest wagon before, but it did unlock the autumn bush and golden corn crop for me. How come it didn’t unlock the four player pictures for me? When I tried clicking on them, it still says I need the harvest pack turkey statue or something.
Anyone notice when u make it rain or stop the rain using the totem pole that a couple of the smurfs start dancing, it's so cute, I love having the totem pole finished, but it's not really useful for anything and I was so close to paying 100 smurfberries to complete it.
I have a problem that when (and it's not often even though I have 142 neighbors that I gift everyday) it doesn't let me know who the gift was from it says "someone left you a gift" . There should be a way to show who gifts and who doesn't because I only get 20 at the most gifts a day
its not fair but hey,
I read somewhere that if you receive a gift from "Someone", it means your friend closed out the game and lost their connection to Game Center or Facebook. If Smurfs Village is left running in the background on a device, then the gift-giver is identified.

I don't know exactly how it works but get the 'Someone' when I can't connect to GC or fb.
Has anyone else been experiencing problems with jokey and blowing up gifts?
jokey blowing up gift is normal. He doesnt always give you gift.
But he seems to blow them up often… Is that normal too?
Four days in a row for me!!! Blowing up gifts!!! I laugh. Oh well.
I the last 4 weeks I got maybe 5 or 6 gifts, haven't got a gift in about 2 weeks now. If you complain to beeline they tell you that that's what happens if you use the time cheat, which I have NEVER used…
Jokey used to give me at least a cake or something, sometimes even smurfberries but now nothing but exploding boxes.

This is happening to me as well, it's been nothing but exploding boxes or 8 days in a row. I did not use the time cheat. I am not sure whatis going on with Jokey, I have had a few days in a row of exploding boxes but of this many.
I can send gifts, but do not receive any. This has been going on for awhile and I tried to contact Beeline about it, but they were no help. When connected to internet, I can send gifts to all my friends (except a few that said they did not have the latest version of iTunes). I was afraid this was happening to me, so I made sure that I had the most up to date version of iTunes by uninstalling and installing the newest version online. However, I still do not receive any gifts. My username is ehcowgirl767. Can someone add me and let me know what is going on?
If you are using game center to launch smurf game, you can fix this problem by reinstalling smurf game. Make sure you back up (not sync) your device to itune before installing smurf game. I am assuming you have reinstalled smurf game and it still doesnt work for you ? If thats the case then I dont know what else to recommend other than try reinstalling it again. It doesnt sound pretty but that's the only way to fix this gifting mess.

I will try and leave you one later today (when my game says I can gift you again – not sure where you are, but it wil be after 6:00 pm central time U.S. for me). I will leave it by Nat Smurf, and if your flowers have not been watered by then, I will do that as well. Let me know later if anything happened.

Has anyone else noticed that it takes more than twice as long to get to the island with this update? It's driving me crazy! Hope this doesn't mean BeeLine is going to make us pay to get to the island. Id feel like quitting the game if they do, but I have spent too much money on this game to quit!
Reboot your device if it takes min . Mine takes about 30sec . It takes longer now because the island is now bigger due two 2 land expansions and takes time to load.
I see all this advice in different posts that the longer trip to the island is because the island is bigger. Is this speculation or is it confirmed with Beeline? Do you know for sure that the length of the trip has to do with the island's size? Looking at the game files, the map file doesn't change when going back and forth. This would suggest that nothing is truly 'loading' or 'switching' during the trip; but that it's likely aesthetic, maybe to show off the lightening and fog effects. Reboot or not, my trip is 1:25 which is about 4-5 times longer than before the update.
I use iphone4 and my trip is 30sec (a little more or less) with no other apps running in the background beside game center. The file size may be the same but values in the files are bigger so more calculations. Thats the info I got from beeline ref . But beeline rep is not a developer so it's still a speculation.
In game setting, I have sound on and effect off.
That's why believe that the extra minute trip is only for aesthetics: with the effects turned off, the trip goes back to it's original 30 seconds. So all that extra is to show off the effects.

Yeah.. I get 30sec to the island when I have sound on and effect off .
Mine takes roughly 15 sec and other time with the lightening and rain during the trip it takes almost 40 sec. When I just updated the game it was in little past 1 minute. Thank goodness it doesn't take that long when visiting neighbors!

I'm having the same issue- my game will not connect. Not on airplane mode, not on wi-fi (on or off airplane mode), not in any way shape or form. Any suggestion?

Is anybody experiancing problems when trying to grow fruit on two of the trees on the new land expansion on the island. Twice already I have planted and the fruit disappears before I can harvest. I use iPad 2 ios5. Thx

You have to plant all 30 at the same time. I had to delete 10 land plots and then buy another 10 planters
I had to delete enough gardens to be able to have 30 gardens at one time. Then I planted all 30 with red tulips.

I Plant about 100 tulips of al kind but nothing happens
I harvested 30 blue tulips at the same time in 2 villages so I know it worked.
I harvested 30 pink tulips at the same time and it works. But before I deleted 10 land plots and bought another 10 planters.
How do you delete plots of land. When I touch it, the crop pictures show up. When the crop is growing, it asks if you want to delete the crop. I would delete plots, but I don't know how to do it. Someone please help me. ( I only have 26 flower plots)
change to move mode then you can delete it
After you finish the quest, can you delete the flower boxes and get your land back?
YES. Delete the flower first by tapping on the flower box, then tap on the small red circle to cancel the flower. Change to move mode, tap on flower box to delete.
MIAB is a huge problem! Three weeks it disappeared midstream of the quest and last week it worked great. This week after completing two parts of the quest, and spending 1 smurfberry, the bottle disappeared. Beeline you need to return the smurfberries.
My bottle arrived today. I opened the quest to find it was the same as previous week with the same stupid green bench reward. Closed the game. Came back to find the bottle had gone! This I don't mind because I dont want the bench. Wondering if the bottle will reappear next week.
Beeline I want robot bolts, blue prints smurfberries not benches. Thank you.
We aren't Beeline and I think the rewards are gifted randomly.
How many more quests should the smurflings and such give? I only got one more from each smurf…should there be more?
