One of the most traditional Cheats in time dependent games is the so called “Time Cheat’’, where the players will be able to change time in order to speed or slow up the game events.
Likewise in Smurfs’ village Game “Time Cheat” has been proven to work perfectly, so by changing the time forward with couple of taps on your iPhone, iPad or iTouch, the players will be able to get their crops, fruits and vegetables ready instantly and don’t have to wait long time.
… there are penalties for manipulating the device clock. Beeline
Growing the crops instantly could be done legally using Smurfberries which you need to pay for them real money. Therefore Capcom had to put an end to it, so what were their actions?
Firstly, they warned the Cheaters either by popping up an alert message upon launching the game as ““BAD DEVICE TIME”, or via a message via Papa Smurf, whenever he detects changes in time, in which Papa Smurf will tell you, “I’m disappointed you have been overworking the Smurfs by changing your clock be careful or your Smurfs will leave the village”.

This message was seen in the earlier updates as a just as a friendly message from papa Smurf to scare the cheaters, however, in the recent updates (1.1.1 upwards) , few actions were indeed added to the game; where many people have noticed that are not getting gifts from Jokey and their snails and caterpillars were not producing any XP.
Initially was thought that the punishment was extremely sever as they wont get gifts form Jokey for weeks or months, but it turned out today that the penalties will take up to a week according to Beeline.
Beeline has mentioned today in one of their support boards that: “… there are penalties for manipulating the device clock. The severity of the penalty and length depend on how often we catch a player changing the clock. Worst case, the game usually goes back to normal in a week or so.”
So in conclusion that Beeline-Capcom (producer/ developer) are aware with this cheat and they have started to fight it, so be carful it may lead to a future ban for those who over use this cheats.
After the new Valentine's update I started getting "Bad Device Time" even though the only difference was the fact that I downloaded the new update…so I don't understand why they're not letting me play…when I haven't done anything wrong…
You mean you can not even access the game? In that case, first make sure that your time, timezone and date are set correctly. If they are, try restarting your device, that can help sometimes.
That happens to me once my sister and I were playing and that popped up for no reason.
Okay so scaredy smurf has been brave for a long time and it keeps telling me to come back at night but when I do he is still brace. I don’t understand. Then jokey smurf tells me to collect a gift from him. C its compliment day or something but when I click on him just keeps telling me to collect his gift. Wat do I do??
Is your effects turned ON? As for Jokey, has it been more than 24 hours since you last collected a gift from him? If you still can't get the gift, make sure you are at least level 16, then go and locate Marco Smurf in one of your friends' villages, collect a gift from Marco smurf and this will resolve Jokey's issue.

I've been getting "bad device time" every now and then, although I NEVER change the time of my device (HTC Sensation XE). I believe someone overreacted in an attempt to protect his income from shitberries…sorry, smurfberries. Beeline, zero stars for you! Learn not to cheat on your customers!
This is an issue that comes up with multitasking, i.e. the app runs in the background, but the time does not go along correctly, when you open the game it still thinks it is the same time it was when you last played. Though the crop timer etc. seems to work correctly. As long as you do not really set the time ahead nothing will happen, i.e. no punishments etc. If you want to contact Beeline about this, you can reach them at support@beeline-i.com
I had the same problem. I have Android and never used time cheat. I don’t know how to do it. But I kept getting that message from Pappa Smurf every time my game crashed and I lost all my crops!

I got a time cheat message after my phone crashed … Now my water well isn't giving me coins. This is just stupid! Who cares if other people change their device times and cheat? It's their device and their game they aren't making any real money and chances are they'll stop playing it in a few weeks anyway. Why am I getting punished for other peoples actions?
The punishment for the cheat is so people do not cheat as it would be unfair in regard to the people who do not cheat (and maybe even spend money on it). But your phone crashing should not cause this, or at least it should fix itself soon unless with the crash the time of your device got set way ahead. I would try restarting your device and also check that the clock is correct, then it should work again soon.
My cousin played the Smurf VIllage using my ipad then I notice that Jokey stop giving me gifts and the snail stop giving bonus. I am not sure if my cousin did any time cheating. When will it go back to normal?
With them stoping to give XP/Gifts it means he did use the cheat. It will come back when the time he set the clock ahead to has come in real life, i.e. if he set it ahead a month it will work again in a month.
But my caterpillars are not giving me xp like for 1 month although I brought foward the time for 2 days only.May I know why?
Usually they return to normal when the time has come, maybe you accidentally also changed the month or year on your device? The only thing you can do is to contact Beeline

I travel a lot around the world…the times are different but when I change the time, for,that country, papa smurf is disappointed…can this be fixed?
You should not change the time, but just the time zone in the settings menu, then everything should be fine according to Beeline.
I used the time cheat a few times and lost Grouchy, Jokey, Scaredy, Clumsy, 62 of my hard working Smurfs and even my two caterpillars and two snails.. Even worst, I lost Papa Smurf!! SMURF THAT!! Now I cant continue with the story.. What's even more strange is my story went back a few chapters and I had to plant cucumbers for Smurfette again.. Weird huh?? Having paid over a hundred bux for Smurfberries, I really was quite annoyed, but I guess thats what I get for cheating the game.. At least mine didnt restart like some of you fellas.. Dang! First of all, I am a Smurfs fan and since I was a little girl, I loved the Smurfs.
Being that said, I don't think this "software" should be put into the category of "games". This software lack of the capabilities that many REAL games have, i.e. characters interacting with each other, interacting with things, getting happier when you add things for their comfort, etc (like The Sims) or any sort of "learning" capabilities.
THE REAL TRUTH for all of you who haven't noticed it yet, is that this is simply a very smart "money-machine", based on the core of the human nature: The maternal/paternal instinct (the need for helping these little beautiful creatures) and The Survival Instinct (The need for improving our community and advance in life.) Therefore, the danger of becoming addicted to it is VERY HIGH.
Unfortunately, in order to play normally, you have to use something that you can get almost exclusively by spending REAL money: The Smurfberries. This is a new category of software, something that we could safely call "moneyware" where the user is "pushed" to keep expending their REAL money.
Think for a moment how much cost a GOOD REAL GAME, where hundreds of people worked to put it togheter, with Artificial Intelligence and all the blinks: about $30 or $50 US dollars. Think about this "free" game and how much money people have spent on the "local coin" (the smurfberries) already and LITTLE BY LITTLE….
Be careful of, without noticing it, fall victim of this "moneyware" and spend your HARD EARNED REAL MONEY little by little. By the way, since the risk of becaming addicted to this game is very high, this should be placed as a GAMBLING WARNING on the download, splash and Smurfberries Shop screens… something that for some misterious (convenient) reasond Beeline has NOT done "yet".
If you give your money to Beeline, you will be showing approval for not only their money-collecting techniques, but also for this poorly programmed and worst designed "moneyware".

The smurfs do not leave, it is just a message to stop you from using the cheat. What happens if you use the cheat is that the special Smurfs and roaming critters will stop giving XP (and in Marco/Jokey's case gifts).
The papa smurf’s house is explosed and I lost a half of my village: house, garden and flower box, bridge and stairs. Also Papa smurf, Grouchy, Brainy, Jokey, Alchemist and other “normal” smurf. I cheat the times but at the first level, now I’m at 26. I have an android and I don’t have the “recover game” button. What can I do to bring back my smurf? How can I play without papa smurf? I have to restart the game?

I do not really know what you mean with "exploded" but you can use the recover feature discussed here: http://www.mysmurfsvillage.com/smurfs-village-gui… to restore to a point where everything was stil fine. The recover button is not there from the beginning, you have to follow the instructions on the link I gave you, it works on Android as well.

You have to wait until the time you cheated towards has come in real life, i.e. if you set the time ahead for seven days, they will give XP and gifts again in 8 days.
Then, what happens if I FIRST turn the clock BACKWARDS for, let's say 7 days, and then gradually change the clock with the crops you plant, until you reach the current date and time again??? I think everything keeps working normally…
I haven't tried that, but that could work, though Papa Smurf should still give a message about cheating when you turn the clock backwards and open the game if he realises the time gap.
True, Papa Smurf does give a message, right after turning the clock back, but not anymore when setting it forward… He only does it when turning it back… Noticed also that he is NOT nagging when I only put it back for about 4-5 hours. But when you do it several times after each other, he will nag again… Apparently the game keeps tracking the total changed time somehow…
Haven't seen yet if the caterpillars and stuff still give XP after that, but I think they should…
Figured out that when you set back the clock only 2 hours and change something in your game (I grow 1 crop of blueberries every time, as that only takes 30 secs), you can keep changing backwards without any warnings! Do that 12 times and you can instantly grow Golden Potatoes!
Because Christmas is coming they should forgive all of us for time cheat. It is time of forgiveness.

A few months ago, I advanced my iTouch ahead 15 years to see if any games would work, most of them did. I am a little confused with some of the posts that I have read. Some have stated that some charecters will not work until they catch up with where you advanced to, others say it will restore with in a week. All my snails and catepillars work fine, jokey and grouchy, not so much. I am on lvl 29. Will I need to startover?
A Beeline employee said on their support forum that all punishments should be over within a week, but this seems to be only true for the other games. From my experience, and I have set up a second village and experimented with the time cheat quite a bit to figure out the punishments etc, you will only get Jokey to work again in 15 years, so it might be better to restart your village. You can also use the Recover Village tip (Instructions here: http://www.mysmurfsvillage.com/smurfs-village-gui… to restore to a point before you advanced the 15 years.
thanks for the reply. Since I had jumped ahead 15 years a few months ago, the recover village back to that point had already passed. I have already reset my village. I now get to enjoy building back up to level 30, and beyond. This is a very nice, helpful web site, Thanks for the help and keep up the great work.

I had to change my clock several times because I travel a lot, I got Papa Smurf's warning and it doesn't matter to me. Now, I have 3 Caterpillars, 2 Snails which don't give me any XP or coins, AND JOKEY STOPPED GIVING ME GIFTS, THAT'S UNFAIR!!! Is there anyway to get my gifts back? I ain't worried about Smurfberries but Clumsy Smurf said I have to collect a gift from Jokey to continue, furthermore I'm on level 32 so don't ask me to restart the game AGAIN

The punishment only lasts up to the point where you set the clock ahead, for example, if you set it ahead for two days, they will start giving gifts/XP again on the third day. With traveling time zones, the difference can only be up to 24 hours, so it should work again soon.
1. Download iPhone explorer and connect unit.
2. Look for smurfs under apps and under documents copy all the files to a new folder on your pc.
3. Delete smurfs app and reinstall the app.
4. Before playing the game, connect the unit to pc and run iPhone explorer. Copy all the old files but exclude any file with names dated pass the present day into the smurfs documents folder.
5. Run smurfs app while iPhone explorer is running and connected to pc. This will put back to where you left off on your village and you should start receiving xp and gifts again. It worked for me after many time cheats. I don't guarantee this will work for you. Perform this mod at your own risk
I notice I get the bad device message when I’m out and about on my iPhone . I think it has something to do with the different wifi my phone picks up. In any case I didn’t know the message suggested I was cheating! Never did cheat once ( found out about it a little late in the game lol ) . I hope the developers sort it out cause I don’t want to lose my village. Just to add I hate those ugly critters, the snail and caterpillar give me nightmares!
I suggest just changing the hours on your device and not the days. It works for me. I plant strawberries and build houses that only take an hour. When I have changed the time for almost 5 times already, I change it back to normal time, relaunch the app, and repeat the whole process again.
I receive the prompt "Bad Device Time" frequently and I have never changed the time on my Iphone with the intent to "cheat." I see that other people have also stated receiving this message after daylight savings time and so forth. Is there anything that I can do to make sure my village does not become penalized in anyway? I frequently travel across time zones; therefore, I require auto updates for my schedule, but I would like to protect my village as I have noticed several times that upon opening my game (from the game center), my entire village had been restarted. Just to clarify, the loss of the village is not a punishment for cheating/changing the time, it is an error that can happen (though it should not), usually when there is a memory issue. That is why Beeline added the Recover Village feature. As to your problem, Beeline said they are aware of people traveling through different time zone having issues, but they can not do anything about that at the moment. however, the worst thing that can happen is a time difference of one day. As the punishment is that the roaming critters, and the special Smurfs will stop giving XP for as long as the time was set wrong, what can happen to you is that for example Jokey won't give you a gift for a day or Smurfette won't give extra XP for 24 hours, so it is not that bad,
I keep getting this message several times a day it when I login and out trying to get my friends to display, I am not changing my time. Also now the second time since the winter update my crops have remained at the same time the next morning so I am losing 9 hours plus of growing time
When not playing, close the game completly (via the multitask bar). That should help. Also, this message always seems to come up (at least for me) when I close the game from the neighbours map. So mabye just go back to your village before closing/logging off and it might work better.

I was playing between my iPad and my phone so my crops wouldn’t wilt if I went out for the day. I’ve never cheated, never even occurred to me that changing the time would speed things up! However for the last few days my pad hasn’t given me the choice to choose the phone based game saying either time error or to check the Internet connection. I’ve tried resetting the time to see if it helps and have backed up both devices to computer but no lunch I’m still stuck with different games on both devices.
Any ideas? I’m sad as it was really working well prior to this

You mean the warning that the device time is set incorrectly or that the Smurfs will leave your village? Make sure you have set the time of your device to the correct time and then restart your device, that should help.
HELP I have never changed the device on my i phone and keep getting the warning message, The other day my whole village even disappeared! The only reason I can think of may be that my phone auto updates day light savings which was a week or so ago. I don't want to loose my village what can i do??
You will not loose your village due to that, however, it has been known to cause some troubles (especially when using different time zones or as in your case with day light saving time). Just make sure that the time on your device is now set correctly, then everything should return to normal.

I believe that punishment fot time cheating in Smurfs village is unfair and illegal. I've paid lots of real money to buy smurfberries to spend for caterpillars and snails, now beeline "punishes" me for "my" game on "my" phone. Game is mine, phone is mine, who can punish me for changing time settings of my iphone? Time cheating is completely legal and beeline is in a big mistake by "punishing" his customers.
Every company needs money, beeline made smurfberries to get money by purchasing them and the time cheat is occurring that. Time cheat gets the crops, buildings, etc. fast but without using smurfberries if the time cheat is used by some players beeline wont get too much money.
I know, but IAP cracker cracks all inapp purchases, so beeline still isn't making that much money anyways! AND, there are some things that require smurfberries other than harvest/build/play instantly!!!!
You need smurfberries for hefty, farmer, smurfette, etc.
The players who manage to do that won't get supported by Beeline if anything goes wrong.
Omg I agree it's not fair that they punish me for something that doesn't effec them! I wouldn't use smurf berries anyway to speed things up. I won't support beeline if anything goes wrong. I chaned the time coz I flew to America and I've been punished. This is RIDICULOUS. Beeline better be careful or they might loose a lot of customers….not a threat just advice. I pity u beeline
Theoretically, your device should have changed time automatically when you changed time zones. you should not have had to manually change it while traveling. That said, we recommend you open a ticket with Beeline and explain the situation to them. Perhaps they might consider reinstating purchased SB so you can restart your village. for my case it is set correctly, it often appear when switching the online/offline mode.
and after that bad device time window pops up, usually my game progress will become backwarded !! (return to the state like several hours ago, so annoying..)
It should help if you completly close the game (via the multitask bar) before switching to offline/online or just in general when not playing.
I have 242 surfs and 8 caterpillars due to my character at limit equal to 250, but recently I lost all my caterpillars and grouchy smurf. I know I cheated the game but is that a punishment as well? My sister and boyfriend also cheating but their characters are still around, how come mine is missing? Any help here, somebody? Although I wouldn’t mind missing caterpillars but I really hope I can get my grouchy back
That should not have something to do with punishmend for cheating, but rather that your village got corrupted. Please try the recover village tip to restore to a point where you still had Grouchy. im level 20 and i cheated a few times like 2 levels so i pretty much played the whole game up to level 18 and papa smurf kept giving me warnings but nothing happened so i kept using the time cheat and then one day my device restarted and everytime i tried to play smurfs it would just take me back to the home page ): i dont know what to do how do i get my smurfs back? my sister cheats aswell, more than me she cheated 6 levels and got caught more times than i did but nothing happened to her, is there anything i can do? or do i have to restart the whole game? ):

It will take as long as you have cheated ahead, that means if you set your clock ahead for a week, it will take a week before everything is back to normal, of you said it ahead a month, it will take a month
it's a time watsting and "tell you what to do game" but once you get in it, U will be addicted… it's good and suitable for retired people and educational game for kids… but for all, it's spoil people… buy using real money to buy smurfberries…. what about those who can't afford to buy? and it's expensive…. with 5usd for may be 200 to 300 smurberries… U will get more people to play… oh, U earn a lot really…. instead of 100usd for thousand of smurberries… U also same… wanting to get fast money. in real life…… then turn out to be your losing gamers and smurf fans…. sound challenging for hackers to find way to hack new updated smurf village….

If you get that message you have to make sure that the time of your device is set correctly, after that this message should disappear.

I got the bad device time warning, but i didn’t cheat! I already tried to reboot my iPod and reset all general settings but it still says the Same thing! what am i supposed to do? Will it go away in a week? someone please help because I don’t wnt to start over and right now I can’t even play the game
And have you checked that the time in your device is set correctly? Maybe adjust it manually or if it is set to manually, set it to automatically. Normally when the time is correct, this should not happen and the message should go away immediately. If that does not help, you will have to contact the creators of the game (Beeline) at support@beeline-i.com

Yes true it happens from time to time, but this is just bug so don't worry about it. All you need to do is to close the application and restart it again. In the worst case scenarion, reboot your iPhone. iPad or iTouch.
Same thing happen to mine device as well. I did not cheat by changing the time, but the message keeps appearing. Sometimes it happen more then 3 times a day. Wonder what's wrong with it. Could it be a faulty in my iPad or what…. This is annoying.
I have heard of a couple of people experiencing this, even though their time is set correct. I would advice to restart your device, if that does not help, maybe change the clock a day back or so, then turn it correct again. If that still does not work, please contact Beeline (support@beeline-i.com)
what will you loss if you keep cheating?
As of now, that is the current version of the game, the roaming animals as well as Jokey, Grouchy, Smurfette etc. will stop to give you extra XP and/or Coins. They will give again when the time to which you set the clock ahead has come in real time.
How long will it take to receive gifts/xp again after using the cheat?
I tried the time cheat a few times to make the game a little more exciting. I also travel between time zones and have had the bad device time pop up even when the time is correct. My caterpillars, snails and jokey have not worked for over a week as well as some of the games. I am angry that I have bought smurfberries as well only to be penalized for traveling.
Up to now it has always been so that Jokey etc. did not give anything up to the time that was cheated ahead, so if you have not received anything for over a week, so that could not really be due to your travels. I agree, however, that they should do something about the people who travel alot and are getting the "Bad Time" error.
Maybe is time for me to STOP playing this game.

I’m glad to read such news that beeline are putting an end to smurfs village cheat,I honestly prefer fair playing, but smurfberries are very expenssive , will they reduce the prices or make any discount to their loyal customers like Kim mentioned above?
Also will the smurfs really leave the village? I have cheated couple of times but never happend to me.
Up to the current version, this is just a warning and the smurfs will not disappear, however, that can change with every new update, so be carefull

I lost everything – entire village back to level 1 . But I backed out! Didn't touch any buttons! Then went back to Game Center and loaded it from there, and thankfully it was only 3 levels lower. Make sure to backup your game through GC! ***note – even though I went back to level 1 my smurfberries were still there, just the total that I had purchased over the months. But all the hours I put into design gone!
I think they should do something about the time zones. some people like to play smurfs while they travel.
I got a warning when I was traveling and changed time zones! Not fair!
my device changed time automatically as I was travelling… and I got a warning 2 twice (2nd when I came back) this is not right. We should find a way to hack the game to get free smurfberries…
Yeah, that is a bit unfortunate, one the one hand they have to prevent cheating, but there are many people who travel between time zones. However, the warning is just there to scare people from cheating, it does not have any consequences, so you should be okay
Will you completely loss your village also and have to start over?
You will not loose your village if you cheat, you will probably loose it due to the bugs the game suffer from.
If you completly loose your village it should not have something to do with the time cheat, but with an error in the game. I don't agree with Beeline. I paid to play the game, if I choose to change the clock on MY device it's my decision. I believe it is up to the makers of the game to produce a game where you can't manipulate the "time cheat".
What if I travel lots, and change my device to coordinate with the country I'm in?
I did try the cheat and lost my game entirely ! Thankfully i had it backed up on game center. I now purchase smurfberries but use them sparingly! The smurfberries IMO are too expensive and just shows as so true in our society, if you have the wealth you get ahead faster! They should do something like make the player work for them, but in their own time as they choose, not by a clock.
I still love the game, but wish it was a tad cheaper! They should offers sales to loyal players or something like that.

What’s the difference between using smurfberries for speeding up crops and buildings on smurfs then cheeting.
Using Smurfberries is the official way of speeding things up, cheating is just that, cheating and it comes with punishments.
I think that is wrong to cheat, however, smurfberries arent just for speeding up time! You need them to purchase things too! And i dont know what the time cheat is but i keep getting the bad device message because my phone roams. If i get “punished” for that then not only will i delete the smurf game, but every other game by beeline and i sure will let everyone know why. You cant “punish” people who arent doing anything wrong. Beeline is getting more than enough money from people buying the smurfberries for food, housing, ladybugs and so many other things. If they are worried about a little time cheat taking away from their money than they need to charge for the game!
Because they make money from the smurfberries. It’s all about the money these days.
I do not think they are cheating us, they created a game that can be played for free with special content that people can, but must not buy. Of course they want you to buy these items as the developers must make a living as well, but it is still you own choice. As for the time cheat, I think it is only fair that people get punished for it, not because they are not using the expensive Smurfberries but because it is unfair to all of the people who have worked hard on their villages (and sometimes spend money on it) without cheating.
I would call it "smart marketing"… Getting rich selling VIRTUAL fruits, who could think of such a thing??? But, I do agree they are a little overpriced…
Anyway, nobody is holding a gun against your head, so it's totally up to you if you want to buy the smurfberries… I never bought any, and I'm now enjoying the village at level 27…
It's been almost 10 months for me and still no presents or catapiller xp…sad
i did it one for one week now I don´t have anygift at all ,its been 5 almost 6 months
you could always restart the game!! I mean… Its worth it!! Id rather restart the game than no presents or catapillar Xp.. Or if you want you could report it to beeline
