Upgrading Houses
ByAll of the available mushroom houses can accommodate up to three Smurfs. Once a house has been build a new Smurf will come back from the forest and enter the village to live there.
Taping on the house opens a window on the right-hand side of the display, at the bottom of that is an upgrade button (only available from level 9 onwards after Handy Smurf’s Mushroom house has been build).
The first upgrade costs 500 Coins and visually adds doorsteps to the house and now two Smurfs can live in it.
A third upgrade adds another Smurf to the village, this one is available for 4 Smurfberries and hence the maximum number of Smurfs being able to live in a house is three. This upgrade adds an attic and a laundry line to the mushroom house.
If more Smurfs are needed there is also an option in the Smurfberry-Shop to buy a new Smurf for 5 Smurfberries without the need to provide him with lodgings.
I’ve seen people villages and they have either two balconies on their houses or they are facing the other way from the door. How is this done?
Those are done through blueprints they acquire from Handy Smurf or Architect Smurf.

I have all blueprints bd have balconies in my houses,
But some people have managed to change the side the balcony is on
And in some cases have two on their houses.

You may need to remove your existing customization in order to have new ones. To do that, tap on your desired mushroom house and then choose the option to remove current hut customization.
Thank you for your advice, this doesn’t seem to work either, guess I’m not meant to have two balconies on my houses

I reached today level 41, but i was not able to build a new mushroom house so i didn’t get a new smurf to join the village and i can’t add a tree or a garden!!!!
The same problem is also in the island!!!
Is level 41 different from the other levels???
Maybe you add one extra house the lvl before, last 2 updates allowed players to build an extra house by mistake which when you reach to a new lvl you still reach the limit
How far can i get (i.e how many levels) without paying with purchased smurf berries? Dun wanna use real $ cos it it just so damn expensive.
It depends on your patience. I`m at level 28, almost 29. I have never used any real money. But of course I`ve been playing for like 2 years or so. I think you can get through all the levels, it will just take a long time.

(go to options in the main menu, then press on papa smurf's head at least 16 times and then you should see a recover village button. press it and go back to a time when everything was back to normal and try again. beware that you will lose some progress though.)

if you buy a house you can get smurfs with them, but the other way around doesn't work all the time if you reach limited number of houses.
hey guys.. I have many problems actually, first im in level 24 with 40 smurfs suddenly they are just 4 while when i tap at houses its 440 Im nt able to do ath with 4 smurfs, I feel like stuck in this level! can anybody help?

Recover your village: Go to options, tap Papa Smurfs’ head 16 times. A ‘recover village’ button appears. Press it and you’ll see a list off saved villages. Select one, preview it, and if it’s yours select ‘recover’.
Every time i send out a raft for a voyage it comes back with 160 dye I click on it but then it goes away when I go to the handy shop. How do I get dye without it going away ?
They usually only hold 2, lol.
hello, i am now on level 49, i buyed a new house and i upgraded ot for 500 coins, but i did not get two new smurfs, this same happend when i upgraded house in level 48, i stull jave only 97 smurfs even the population is 100. what shozld i do? how can i get my smurfs?
I have the same problem and only noticed after spending 15 SB's. The developer has e-mailed me back saying sorry there is a limit on the amount of smurfs you can have and did not offer a refund.

I have 17 house all upgraded but the total population I have since months ago is still 9/36. Why ? I have none of my smurf going off to the forest or doing anything but de population is still the same. Please fix these

but you should fix it like a bug in new upgrade, should not you? i have population 97/108, i upgrade or buy house and have not any new smurf, i can not restore village is too late,

I have upgrated All my houses with smurfberries and just found out that there is a limit of 250 caracters. So maybe i haven't just waisted a lot of berries, in the future when you hopefully expant the limit i be abel to build several houses at once, good to "know":-) or Else your kind of punished for sending berries:-(

How do I build a house without adding a new smurf? I bought 11 smurfs with smurfberries and I want to give them houses.
You can't Building a house automatically grants you a new smurf.
Every time I customize my huts the upgrade disappears. Is anyone else having this issue? "level 43"
do not move the customized hut. Some said the latest update has fixed the bug, while others are saying the bug is still there. I moved my customized huts today without any problem. I think the problem is random now
After the upgrade on 31st May, 2 of my customized heart roof disappeared. I used smurfberries to purchase the dyes needed. Pls fix this.

You need to answer 5 questions from apapa smurf first to upgrade Handys hut and this happen in the main village not on the island

Read this if you are thinking of completing Handy's upgrade. You need to complete all of Papa Smurf's quests that came with the latest update in the main village. He will ask you to send smurfs into the forest about 5 times. Without using smurfberries, it will take about a week to complete. Only upon completion of upgrading Handy's hut(you will see a new button appear that says 'Handy's shop', when you tap on Handy Smurf's hut), then you can go to the island and build Architect Smurf. He can be found in the island's build menu, next to Slouchy Smurf for 1500 coins.

Complete Papa Smurf's quests in the main village FIRST. i.e. complete all the quests needed to upgrade Handy's hut. Then, you go to the island.

Im now at level 20. I had 43 smurfs. But now the population is 12
but when i check them at the mushroom house it is 12/43
I need the rest. How can i get them back?

somebody told me this trick to bring back the smurfs. I haven't tried it so I dont know if it works or not.
Tap on papa smurf head 16 times to bring up saved village. Go preview a village. When u exit the preview, it asks u if u want to play that village. Choose NO.
The go back to village and see if all smurfs are there.

How do I upgrade a house by using handy, When I click on Handy then they asks me if i want to play the game. And if I upgrade a house using 500 coins then is not doing anything to compleet the question.

I upgraded a house but a smurf did.not come to my village.
The total number available on the left upper corner didn’t go up.
When I click a mushroom house it says population 21/22. The available smurf section says 0/21.

I have the same issue but I dont have 250 characters
I only ever encountered this problem with the character limti. If you go to the Smurfberry Items shop there is a smurf that you can buy for 4 Berries. Does it say "At character limit" there? If it does not, I can only advice to contact Beeline at support@beeline-i.com
Hi, I have the same issue. Upgraded a house but a new smurf didn't come, and i I haven't reach the character limit yet. I emailed beeline and I'm waiting for their reply.
Beeline replied me within a day, saying that I have reached the character limit. I replied them saying I'm only at level 23 and I only have 47/48 smurf, far from the 250 limit. It has been 2 days and I'm still waiting for their next reply..
I have the same issue. I upgraded a house bud didn't get a new smurf.. When i click on a house, i see 'Total population 51 / 52' so i miss 1 smurf indeed. I didn't reach the character limit, since i only have 51 smurfs, and 1 snail and 1 catterpillar (and i can buy new ones).. looks like a bug?

Upgraded more houses, got more smurfs, but one is still missing (28 smurfs per 29 housings).
at level 22, papa smurf asked me to upgrade a house because of some spell that gargamel cast… i have upgraded all my houses and have to wait till the next level for another house.. how do i complete this task?? p/s: i dont want to use any smurfberries…
if you do not want to upgrade with Smurfberries you have to wait for the next level until you can build a house again. There is no way to skip tasks.
Or you could build a new house and upgrade that with coins
As he said, he already upgraded all of his houses, so he can not just build a new one but has to wait for the next level when he is once again allowed to upgrade it. I think this question was already answered satisfactory.

I am on level 41 and I upgraded a house and I did not get another smurf. It says that I am at smurf limit. This is the same with snails and caterpillars, I have reached creature limit.

I visit smurf villages randomly and have seen a house upgrade with stars and the moon on the dome. How do you get this upgrade.

You do not need Smurfberries to Upgrade Papa Smurf's House, please read the article about Alchemist Smurf on how to Upgrade his house.
I have upgraded my houses for 500 coins and while I got the steps, I don't see any laundry line.
You are right, the laundry line is added when you upgrade with Smurfberries, I changed the article.

Just tap on the house you want to upgrade and press on the "Upgrade" button at the bottom.

This seems to be a bug, please contact Beeline about it so they can fix it.

I upgraded a house but somehow didn't get an extra smurf. Available smurfs says 27/28. And if I try and buy a 28th piece of land to grow crops it says I need another smurf. None of my smurf are out in the forest. How do I get my 28th smurf?
You already have 28 Smurfs.The 27 means you have 27 smurfs out of 28 not working, so one smurf is either working or in the forrest. If you are sure that you only have 27 crop fields, then you probably got either a flower box or a shrub (little tree that grows fruits) that a smurf is working on at the moment. The number of crop fields, flower boxes and shrubs together equalls the number of Smurfs you have living in your village.

Either upgrade a house, build a new house (you might have to wait for the next level to do that) or buy one in the Smurfberry Shop for 5 Smurfberries.
Yes. So the max level achievable is 40. Two upgrades per house = 120 plots of land or shrubs or planters. Then you could add Smurfs for 5 Smurfberries.
I am on level 36 and I have 96 or 97 Smurfs. I think I have about 45 Caterpillars (and a few Snails), 12 Butterflies, a Frog, 8 Squirrels.
I also have an Orange Mushroom which I earned from my Smurfs Grabber game. I am trying to earn a coloured bench too (in a colour you cant buy in the game) from the Smurfs Grabber game, which is linked to my Village.
I haven't seen ay discussion here about linked games like the Smurfs Grabber game.
What's the point of upgrading a house for 500 coins to get 1 smurf? Isn't it cheaper to build another house for 30 coins? I am on level 12 with no intention of buying smurfberries.
You can only build one house per level, so on level 12, you can have 12 Smurfs (not counting the free ones at the beginning of the game), but by upgrading the house you can have then 24 Smurfs.
At handy workshop the hummer is not doing anything what can i do;
First try to restart your device and sync it to itunes if restarting does not help. That usually solves issues like that
alchemist smurf is telling me to upgrade papa smurf's house but when i click on the house, it only asks me if i want to play the game….what do i do?
It is an error that came with the latest update, there is nothing you can do about it other than to wait for Beeline to fix it.

Did you restore it?
Delete the smurfs village if you have gamecentre then install it again
