Version 1.2.0 (iOS) and 1.0.8 a (Android) added Handy Smurf’s Shop and Architect Smurf which comes with the ability to customize mushroom houses. For more information on how to upgrade Handy Smurf’s House with his Shop and how to get Architect Smurf on the island please read the articles on Handy and Architect.

The first thing needed for the customizations are blueprints for them. They will each unlock once special customization and can either be bought with Smurfberries or gotten as a gift from Marco/Jokey Smurf, via a blueprint raft expedition or as rewards from message in a bottle quests. However, it is very rare to get one of the blueprints, so if you are, for example trying to get one via a blueprint raft expedition, be prepared to do a lot of them before a Smurf will bring back one of the blueprints.

Once a blueprint has been unlocked, depending on the customization, it is also needed to have a certain amount of either dye, stone or wood (or a variation of all three).

All three items can be given as a gift to neighbours on the island and the mainland,  they can be bought for Smurfberries from Architect or Handy Smurf’s Shop or found on a raft expedition for the item (each expedition is 24 hours long and brings the item back twice, i.e. a 24 hour dye expedition brings back 2x dye for use on the customizations). Wood and Stone are also given every time Miner Smurf (Stone) and Timber Smurf (Wood) give their special XP. Miner Smurf gives 9x stone and Timber Smurf gives 12x wood.

At the moment the following blueprints are available:

Clicking on Architect Smurf’s Mushroom House and then choosing “Architect Shop” on the island and the same for Handy Smurf’s Mushroom house on the mainland will open the customization shop.

After that, just choose and tap on a blueprint and choose an existing mushroom house to customize it. If there are not enough supplies to build one of the customizations they blueprints will not be accessible.

Only “normal” mushroom houses can be changed, the special houses that belong to the special smurfs cannot be customized with one of the above blueprints.

If Painter Smurf has been bought, the colour of the rooftops of the customized houses can still be changed.

It is, at the moment, not possible to delete customizations, though choosing the same kind of blueprint will reset the previous one (i.e. if a brick chimney is applied on a mushroom house that has already a stone chimney customization, the stone chimney will be removed with the brick one, but it is not possible to completely delete the customized chimneys).

After a long wait is time for android users to cheer up after Beeline has released  Clockwork a and Architect version (version 1.0.8a).  Many new staff and decoration items have been added.

So What’s new in version  1.0.8a according to Beeline?
New Smurf Hut Customizations!

  •  Give your Smurf huts a fresh new look! Change doors, windows, chimneys, roofs and balconies.
  •  Handy Smurf learns to customize huts in the village after completing quests at level 11.
  • Architect Smurf joins the island and can customize huts at level 20 (after Handy opens his hut shop in the village).
  • Unlock new customization options by discovering blueprints!
  • Blueprints can be discovered by interacting with various Smurfs throughout the game

.

Clockwork Smurf Comes to The Island!

  • Piece Clockwork Smurf back together by finding his missing pieces!
  • Unlock cogs by completing message in a bottle quests after finding his blueprint at level 20.
  • Help friends assemble Clockwork Smurf faster by sending them bolts.

As Always!

  •  Lots of new quests.

There are two smurfs that handle all of the remodeling duties in the villages. At level 11 Handy Smurf will open his shop doors for users who want to add a different color or style to their smurfs humble abode. For players that have unlocked their island at level 20 Architect Smurf will appear to help carry out customization options on the isles. They both give users the same styles to use to redesign their villages. Specific resources are necessary to buy customization features in the game. Dye, wood, stone, and even brick may be required to purchase these add-ons. Players can collect these supplies from friends or buy them using Smurfberries. It can cost anywhere from 5 to 50 SBs for a supply pack. The more resources a user has the easier it is to remodel your village.

There are a variety of designs to choose from. Players can give their ordinary mushroom hut homes a retro spotted or feminine heart style roof top. Add a wooden sheds, arched doorways, and stone chimneys to current huts. Sending smurfs out on rafts, performing message-in-a-bottle quests, and occasionally as a gift from Jokey players will receive special blueprints for new designs. Tapping on an individual hut will prompt the customization tab or users can tap directly on Architect Smurf for access to the color options. Blue, red, white, pink, yellow, brown, and lavender are just a handful of the colors available. Each bottle costs a certain amount of dye to use. A quick tap on the bottle and then the hut of your choosing automatically changes the shade. Since it only changes one mushroom hut at a time players will need a significant amount of dye and resources to remodel all of their huts.

One of the best ways to gather supplies is through gifting. Three available gifts have been added to the friend gifting list when players visit their villages. One stone, wood, or dye can be given to neighbors. Being generous with friends and giving gifts daily is a surefire method to receiving the same in return. If it’s a specific resource that you’re after then posting the request as your Game Center status is another technique for receiving the dyes or stone you need.  This fun design element allows players to experiment with the look of their neighborhoods. Select one stellar stand out color or mix and match for a colorful village like no other. It’s completely up to you.

A lot of you may be stumped initially on how to acquire Architect Smurf, ever since he was introduced on the 4 May update. Due to the concurrent quests Papa Smurf issues, players may be confused on the sequence and process to acquiring him. Below is a brief guide on what you need to do in order to successfully build Architect Smurf’ hut. Firstly, you need to know that Architect Smurf can only be purchased on the island’s build menu, not the main village. Secondly, you need to be  at level 20 after Handy opens his hut shop in the main village in order to get this going. Handy Smurf can be purchased in the main village’s build menu for 500 coins. You can identify Handy’s hut that has a hammer icon hovering about his hut. Having Handy Smurf gives you the option to upgrade your mushroom houses to have more smurfs, first round by coins, and second, by smurfberries. Handy Smurf also comes with a simple hammering mini game that earns you a small amount of xp each time ( you can find out  more about Handy Smurf here).

Anyway, once you have gotten the update on 4 May and have completed any of Papa Smurf’s existing quests, the new series of quests will be triggered when you tap on Papa Smurf. Basically, he will ask you to send 3 smurfs into the forest for 2 days (48 hours), and this will happen a total of 4 times. Without using smurfberries, this will already take you 8 days to complete.

After which, he will ask you to collect wood from Timber Smurf. Not to worry if you have already just collected wood from Timber Smurf. Normally, you have to wait once every 12 hours to collect wood from Timber Smurf. But specially for this quest, you will see an arrow hovering above Timber Smurf’s hut and the wood icon hovering too. Tap on it to receive the wood and the quest will be completed.

Lastly, Papa Smurf will ask you to add a shed to the hut. Find Handy Smurf’s hut and now you will see the arrow hovering there. Tap on Handy Smurf’s hut and now you will an additional button that says ‘Handy’s Shop’. Tap on it and you go into a whole new menu that allows you to customize your mushroom houses into different variations. Initially, you have a few choices but as you unlock more and more blueprints, you get more choices. Some of the blueprints can be found by Jokey or Marco Smurf. If you can’t wait, you can always purchase them with smurfberries. You will see options to purchase wood, stones and dye and some special packages.

You will then realize in order to customize the huts, you need raw materials like wood, stones and dye. Wood can be harvested from Timber Smurf every 12 hours, while stones can be collected from Miner Smurf once a day. Sadly for dye, you can only acquire them either through gifts from Jokey,  friends or sending smurfs on a dye expedition on the island. Once again, if you can’t wait, you can use smurfberries to purchase these raw materials.

To customize your huts, simply tap on the desired customization, and tap on a selected mushroom house and tap once again to confirm you wish to customize the hut. Note: You need an available smurf to do the customization. It is almost like building another mushroom house as it will take time from 4 to 12 hours to customize.

Anyway, you can now head to the island, tap on the build menu and build Architect Smurf. Architect Smurf can be found next to Slouchy Smurf for 1500 coins. Once constructed, you will realize Architect Smurf share the same build menu as Handy Smurf, with one difference. With Architect Smurf, you can use the dye to color your mushroom houses on the island, performing the same function as Painter Smurf. Unfortunately, while coloring in the main village is free if you have purchased Painter Smurf, coloring on the island is not. For every dye, you will notice a cost involved. Some dyes cost more than others, so do take note before you decide to color your houses. Beeline currently has no intention of making the dye coloring free on the island, but you never know. One last thing to note, once you have customized your mushroom houses, DO NOT move them, as the customization will be lost. This is a glitch that has been made aware to Beeline, and we hope they can fix it as soon as possible.

ArchitectArchitect smurf was introduced in Version 1.2.0, which was released in May 2012, on the island. During the game, after reaching the island area, Papa Smurf will ask to build Architect Smurf’s house (hut), this will happen after a discussion takes place between him and other Smurfs:

Smurf 1: Wasn’t there an Architect smurf?
Smurf 2: He retired to smurf a set of condominiums once.
Smurf 3: He retired after they burned down
Papa Smurf: May be if we build him a house, we can convince him to set up a shop again.

Then  there will be a quest from Papa Smurf asking to build Architect’s House (Build Architect’s Hut).

Buying Architect smurf’s Hut will unlock the feature to customize mushroom houses (huts) in the island.

Architect’s Hut can only be built in the island area and costs only 1500 gold coins.

If it says, in the island build menu, that Handy Smurf’s Shop is required to build Architect Smurf’s Hut it means that Handy’s Smurfs hut on the mainland area has to be upgraded first so that it unlocks “Handy Smurf’s Shop” and hut customizations on the mainland first, otherwise Architect Smurf’s hut cannot be placed.

So before you get Architect Smurf’s house you need first to upgrade Handy’s Hut in the main village. For more information on how to perform this upgrade please go to Handy Smurf page.
